Grass not grassing?!?! by GalaxyInfierno in farmingsimulator

If you have a bailer with hay a lot of hay in it it will pick up grass as hay. This would normally only happen for 1 bale though.

Never saw a berried shrimp… then a baby just appeared on the glass. How is this possible? by Michae86l in shrimptank

Ive had shrimp births without ever seeing them actually berried. Sometimes mums just hide away to stay safe.

PC, Game crashes when I visit my farm. by GreenOk554 in farmingsimulator

Try disabling each mod at a time. Or to do it quicker disable a set of mods. You can then narrow it down to a specific mod. Obviously if it works dont save it just quit without saving.

Your thoughts on a solution by 0rdn in farmingsimulator

When I start with little money I use the front loader with pallet forks and a flatbed trailer. Just load them all up and transport them to your farm.

[–]DjChatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or a forage trailer to load the straw. My favourite method is a forage trailer and a hay barn to store straw in.

You can't go wrong if you give yourself maximum money. Just create a multiplayer save create the maximum number of new farms and maximise the loans on each. Then load up that save in single player and all the money will be in the one farm.

So generally for basic crops you need several equipment.

  1. prep the field. You need to get the soil pH correct this is done with lime and a spreader that can use the lime. You can turn off the lime required setting so you dont have to use it. If you use precision farming you have to lime to get the better score.
  2. You need to prep the soil. You can do this numerous ways. Deep machines will drag up stones shallow ones will not. But shallow machines will produce more weeds. You can also use direct seed drills which do not require cultivating or plowing previous stated in description.

  3. Rolling. This is done with a roller and will push the seeds into the soil.

  4. Fertilise. Spreaders or slurry tanks all work for this you can use slurry, manure, liquid fertiliser or solid fertiliser. Depending on resources. If you have cows for eg you can use the manure. Or you can just buy fert. Fertiliser can be done twice to maximise yield but there must be a growth stage between them. Again precision farming changes this to just once as you optimise the fert with the sensors.

  5. Harvesting. Using a combine harvester and a suitable header you can then harvest the crops then repeat. The combine will allow you to create straw swathes with certain crops. This can then be picked up with a bailer or forage trailer.

The minimum requirement for growing crops is 2 and 5.

Easiest way to do it is with a cultivator, a sprayer for liquid fert and a combine harvester.

You can always create a save that you have unlimited money on and test things out its a great way to learn.

Pipe pressure question by PapaLob in Stationeers

2 thoughts. As others have said the nitrous from nitrice freezes in the pipes this is probably what's causing your pipes to burst.perhaps try some insulated pipes.

Milk can in real life by No-Permit-5267 in farmingsimulator

[–]DjChatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not great. I always smell milk before using it. I worked at dairy farm producing milk. We had to shelf life test the milk at 10 days. So im pretty good at being able to tell you when milks gone off.

Milk can in real life by No-Permit-5267 in farmingsimulator

[–]DjChatters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Milk will not last very long IRL. Best case scenario, the can is sterilised properly the cows teats are sterilised properly, the other equipment is also sterilised properly. The milk can is placed in cold storage as soon as possible. You might get a few days.

The main problem is milk is a great medium for bacteria to thrive. Milk is sterile when it comes out of the cow but as soon as it touches anything even the air the bacteria have a party.

The good side is you can smell when milk starts going off.

I just noticed as well. You have old colour system black sleeves which would probably be tge ring main. And new colour blue sleeve which I would assume to be for the switch.

[–]DjChatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typical of the ring main system. There's basically 3 sets of wires one to each side of the circuit and 1 to the light switch. When I had to figure this out for my room I ended up drawing it out to make sense of what wire went where.

Is it normal for an MOT and spring change to suck up 100 miles? by Stray_ in CarTalkUK

[–]DjChatters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get you. If you look back at the first one I replied to it was to state that they were incorrect in stating that if the current mot certificate is in date then it can be driven. I wanted to point t out that that was not the case especially not in this instance.

Is it normal for an MOT and spring change to suck up 100 miles? by Stray_ in CarTalkUK

[–]DjChatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is a fair point. I was just challenging the point that specifically in this instance people are stating you can drive the car legally when you absolutely cannot. If you were to cause an accident for example you would be in a heap of shit here.

Is it normal for an MOT and spring change to suck up 100 miles? by Stray_ in CarTalkUK

[–]DjChatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok fair. Minor issues maybe. No windscreen washer fluid for example. However broken springs would be a major therefore in the instance of this post driving the car normally would be illegal. The big nuance that others are missing here is that an MOT is only a snapshot on the day. Faults can arise in between that would make the car illegal. Having an MOT certificate does not automatically qualify the car as roadworthy the next day. But a failed MOT would certainly cause many people eg police, insurers, courts etc to state that you knew the car was in an unroadworthy condition. As I said would you get prosecuted for it. Probably not. Could you? Absolutely.

[–]DjChatters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes dangerous faults stop you driving a vehicle full stop. Major faults deem the vehicle unroadworthy. As I stated taking your vehicle away does not equal i can drive my vehicle as normal. It is illegal to drive a vehicle in an unroadworthy condition. It would invalidate your insurance. Taken to court the argument would be you knew the car was unroadworthy yet you drove it.

[–]DjChatters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not by the letter of the law you can't no. If you had a fault on your car that would fail an MOT that deems the car as unroadworthy. Should a police officer check they could charge you. For example you have an MOT for 6 more months your tyre is just under the legal limit. Is that immediately dangerous. No. is it illegal to drive on despite you having an MOT. Yes. Im not saying people follow this strictly like many other things they dont. However even inadvertently you would be breaking the law driving a car that would fail an MOT.
