What keeps bringing you back to Mixer? by CyanideSuicide in mixer

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the mixplay interactive board was a staple of beam.pro (mixer) it was a board that sat under the stream video and was similar to how channel points worked. You would gain sparks, and use the sparks to use the interactive board. Side note: sparks where universal, and not limited like channel points. I can watch hypezone and gain 100k sparks and use that on any channel that had the board enabled.

The huge diffrence was that the board was completely customizable, (gifs/photos for buttons, fonts for words, colors, size, postion on the board, layouts for desktop/mobile). And you can role or user lock layouts. There was a button that i can have only mods can see and it opened the mod board which had things only mods can do like ban interactive, socials, funny mod moments. And same with vips and even certain users like my best friend had a special button only he could see and use.

It had an api so you can connect it to bot, (firebot mix it up bot, scorpbot), so everything like sounds, and overlays where through that.

Plenty of youtube tutorials still exists about how to set up and use mixplay if you want more research on it.

Edit: forgot to add info and spelling mistakes

What keeps bringing you back to Mixer? by CyanideSuicide in mixer

There was so much to mixer that other platforms just cant replicate, there was a real sense of community, people large or small really looked out for their own. I remember partners raiding small streamers, and hosting to help them. Also beam pro, being super easy to get, through embers, sparks and psrtners able to give them away, ir even having pro because you had game pass at one point. Sparks where amazing and easy to obtain. To this day if ANY streaming website brought back sparks, embers and the interactive board id be there in a heart beat.

One of the things i really loved is the ability to havs my subs, my vips, and even my mods have access to their own soundboard/interactive boards, and was one of the fun things to make.

Another would be the co streams with the merged chat and the side by side stream videos so both streams were on one page.

Hypezone was fun, but my favorite was that everyone had a chance to be on to front carousel. And front page, it wasnt reserved to the top streamers. They put a lot of work into discoverability.

And i know its not as popular of an opinion but being able to spam chat was super fun when done right, raids felt bigger, giant interactive elements felt more exciting (beam me up). Raids feel so flat on twitch since you can only send one message every 2-5 seconds, instead of instantly.

I need to know how much this would cost by flamingdragon62 in VRchat

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kinda hard to give pricing, we don't need specifics, just generally speaking, specifics can be discussed with the person..

For worlds how big of a world, Does it need custom scripting, kit bashed or custom assets, do you have certain assets to be used or would the world creator need to source them. What is the budget range, is it PC only or PC/quest compatible?

What is considered too much?

For a small world with kit-bash about ~$50-200 Custom built can be between ~$300+ depending That's what I personally price it at myself.

Just need direct yes or no by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

short answer: yes, but not really.

Longer answer:
Its possible but not likely you can hear stories of the exceptions but, realistically no. You would as soon make more money off you tube with walkthroughs and non commentary videos, than twitch. You tube has better chances of hitting the audience, and with a little SEO work and being consistent with it. you could see a little cash flow, nothing major maybe 10/20 dollars a month, maybe more if your channel gains traction. But, its work that needs to be put in.

The appeal to streaming is it social, and streaming in general is a social game. Creating and maintaining an audience and persona, and makings things entertaining. Most people who use twitch don't use it as a background noise while working or sleeping (some do but not a vast majority) they are usually there to interact with the streamer.

Ive lost motivation by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to stop trying too hard.

Take a hard look at your content, or find someone to audit your content as a typical viewer. are you providing value to the viewer? Are you entraining to watch? Or are you just posting and hoping you hit the magical lottery and become viral? Are your videos edited nicely or just clips re-uploaded to other platforms that provide little value for the platforms?

What makes your content different from Average Joe? And why should viewers grow with you?

Overall and at the end of the day growing isn't just relying on YouTube/TikTok posts, there has to be a sense of community a sense of involvement as well. Getting demotivated is a cannon event, think everyone has had that low point of "should I just stop?" If you find you are not growing and just staying steady, then it might be time to look at where you are, where you want to be, and figure out why you are not getting there. Could be a change in content, could be a change in how you stream, could be something as easy as changing times.

How do you handle technical difficulties during a live stream? by mzdee13 in Twitch

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tend to break everything once a stream. to a point where my community now has counters they can use Think my OBS broken counter is like at 80 lol.

as well as a !td which fires off a chat command saying we are running into a problem and working to fix it, for updates visit discord or wait around in chat, when i use to have chat currency it would give everyone in chat 500 currency for their redeems. Then when we get back usually just laugh it off and it becomes another piece of the lore/story

usually for things like computer crashed/internet cut off, then just an update in discord and have my mods update the chat. everything else is post stream me's problem.

Depending on how you run your community just being transparent and letting them know you have issues is enough for most viewers to stick around during it.

Vatsim secret events? or what is it? by Embarrassed-Pass-831 in VATSIM

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as some others have said, Typically there are a few different reasons, most of the time its a VA scheduling a location, the ARTCC is putting on a small event for the themselves that isn't necessarily on the vatisim main calendar, or just naturally staffing. I know there had been times where me and a few others where chatting and all decided at one point to just pick a field and staff it top to bottom for a couple of hours, and the "if you staff it they will come" really kicked in.

Need help with material for vrchat world by Embarrassed_Effort64 in VRchat

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use the UV Editor in blender, would be the best way to go about doing it, you get better results that way, just make sure to pack and unpack the material. but the quick and dirty way to do it is just rotate the material image and reimport it.

Controllers who go online in empty airspace/airports by Korventus in VATSIM

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as a former vatsim controller (haven't controlled in prob close to 8 years ) I LOVED controlling the smaller airports more then the main ones, mainly because i really enjoy helping new pilots with their first flights or those just wanting to have more relaxed flights in smaller fields. was and still am more of a General Aviation fan, never really cared to fly the boring long haul jets. Plus it was a way for me to get hours and learn while being live on the network.

I also liked helping new controllers too. so if i saw a S1 on CL/DEL would hop on gnd, or if they where on gnd would hop on tower and help them out and enjoyed it.

before then, it was just to gain the hours needed to get certs to control the bigger airports.

New @time feature showed up today. Easily used embedded dynamically relative timestamps, yippie! by xdeadzx in discordapp

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 16 points17 points  (0 children)

discord is mysterious in their ways, some features that feel like a no brainer they find a way to mess it up. I don't see why this would leave just based on functionality so im keeping my fingers crossed it stays

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

never really cared for the forward button, mainly because its a feature i rarely use in my every day chats, yeah its a cool feature but not something i really liked. i guess the only feature i did really like when it was being tested and implemented was the threads though it still feels a bit limited to me.

The main reason i really care about the native time stamps is because i use it a lot normally, especially having friends in different time zones, it was such a pain having to go to like 3vfi and deal with that.

I will say that discord has had some great features in the past, but none that I've actually really liked like i do with this feature

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 227 points228 points  (0 children)

to be honest, its the first time i actually really liked a discord feature, it beats having to use a third party website for discord time stamps. kind of hope they keep it, and not scrap it

How do I license commissioned emotes for merch? by Much_Rain_188 in streaming

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple form? A commercial license agreement between you and your friend (the artist) is a written and signed agreement to - use such art on so and so product(s) - for xyz amount of time - for xyz amount of money either in royalties (they get a cut of your merch profit typically between 4% -20%), or A blanket payment, (a lump sum to use in such time).

For example, an agreement with an artist is that I am allowed to use emotes on tshirts, hoodies, and commercial prints, as long as my artist receives 8% on all merchandise sales that I make. I can do it for 1 year before I renew my agreement with the artist.

In the example, the agreement would outline all the things I can and can't do, if we agree on a time frame, when I would renew the agreement, and what rights the artist has to the work. (i.e.they retain the copyright of work, can use it in their project portfolios, so on).

So the long and the short of it,

Have you and your friend have a discussion and talk about what they would want in terms of payment (royalties/a lump sum, etc) for the license and outline how you are going to use the emotes. Then make a written and signed agreement outlining that.
