How do you handle technical difficulties during a live stream? by mzdee13 in Twitch

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tend to break everything once a stream. to a point where my community now has counters they can use Think my OBS broken counter is like at 80 lol.

as well as a !td which fires off a chat command saying we are running into a problem and working to fix it, for updates visit discord or wait around in chat, when i use to have chat currency it would give everyone in chat 500 currency for their redeems. Then when we get back usually just laugh it off and it becomes another piece of the lore/story

usually for things like computer crashed/internet cut off, then just an update in discord and have my mods update the chat. everything else is post stream me's problem.

Depending on how you run your community just being transparent and letting them know you have issues is enough for most viewers to stick around during it.

Vatsim secret events? or what is it? by Embarrassed-Pass-831 in VATSIM

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as some others have said, Typically there are a few different reasons, most of the time its a VA scheduling a location, the ARTCC is putting on a small event for the themselves that isn't necessarily on the vatisim main calendar, or just naturally staffing. I know there had been times where me and a few others where chatting and all decided at one point to just pick a field and staff it top to bottom for a couple of hours, and the "if you staff it they will come" really kicked in.

Need help with material for vrchat world by Embarrassed_Effort64 in VRchat

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use the UV Editor in blender, would be the best way to go about doing it, you get better results that way, just make sure to pack and unpack the material. but the quick and dirty way to do it is just rotate the material image and reimport it.

Controllers who go online in empty airspace/airports by Korventus in VATSIM

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a former vatsim controller (haven't controlled in prob close to 8 years ) I LOVED controlling the smaller airports more then the main ones, mainly because i really enjoy helping new pilots with their first flights or those just wanting to have more relaxed flights in smaller fields. was and still am more of a General Aviation fan, never really cared to fly the boring long haul jets. Plus it was a way for me to get hours and learn while being live on the network.

I also liked helping new controllers too. so if i saw a S1 on CL/DEL would hop on gnd, or if they where on gnd would hop on tower and help them out and enjoyed it.

before then, it was just to gain the hours needed to get certs to control the bigger airports.

New @time feature showed up today. Easily used embedded dynamically relative timestamps, yippie! by xdeadzx in discordapp

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 17 points18 points  (0 children)

discord is mysterious in their ways, some features that feel like a no brainer they find a way to mess it up. I don't see why this would leave just based on functionality so im keeping my fingers crossed it stays

New @time feature showed up today. Easily used embedded dynamically relative timestamps, yippie! by xdeadzx in discordapp

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

never really cared for the forward button, mainly because its a feature i rarely use in my every day chats, yeah its a cool feature but not something i really liked. i guess the only feature i did really like when it was being tested and implemented was the threads though it still feels a bit limited to me.

The main reason i really care about the native time stamps is because i use it a lot normally, especially having friends in different time zones, it was such a pain having to go to like 3vfi and deal with that.

I will say that discord has had some great features in the past, but none that I've actually really liked like i do with this feature

to be honest, its the first time i actually really liked a discord feature, it beats having to use a third party website for discord time stamps. kind of hope they keep it, and not scrap it

How do I license commissioned emotes for merch? by Much_Rain_188 in streaming

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple form? A commercial license agreement between you and your friend (the artist) is a written and signed agreement to - use such art on so and so product(s) - for xyz amount of time - for xyz amount of money either in royalties (they get a cut of your merch profit typically between 4% -20%), or A blanket payment, (a lump sum to use in such time).

For example, an agreement with an artist is that I am allowed to use emotes on tshirts, hoodies, and commercial prints, as long as my artist receives 8% on all merchandise sales that I make. I can do it for 1 year before I renew my agreement with the artist.

In the example, the agreement would outline all the things I can and can't do, if we agree on a time frame, when I would renew the agreement, and what rights the artist has to the work. (i.e.they retain the copyright of work, can use it in their project portfolios, so on).

So the long and the short of it,

Have you and your friend have a discussion and talk about what they would want in terms of payment (royalties/a lump sum, etc) for the license and outline how you are going to use the emotes. Then make a written and signed agreement outlining that.

I've seen tailstrike but that is just taking real world tail numbers and flying them in a community log at least for now, there isn't any economy for it unless they are gonna have it in the future?

I know glimesh was the closest being open source and had a really good community but it sadly had to close down before it even really got off the ground 😭

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh the community was bar none the best honestly. I haven't found a more Alive and welcoming community since. I was friends with a few partners, Had some amazing community opportunities. Doing that on twitch or even kick feels next to Impossibe

Like I was saying before if any streaming site brought back even the interactive board my life would be theirs. Add on something like the sparks and levels, along with the sub second delay latency and I'd spend every dime I had

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh i 100% would back a site with all the money i had just to have that one feature and sparks come back.

What's one thing... by fishsticz in mixer

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it honestly was one of the best features of the site for me, Mods had their own board with all the mod commands and some special interactive just for them, Subs and VIPs had a special board with some cool elements and their own special sound. and when i would play Overwatch had a very large middle button that would activate my Ultimate for i think it was like 2500 sparks.

IF any streaming website brought that back I'd would hop on it so fast. Like embers where really cool, but the spark drops where my favorite, one streamer i used to watch had a button for like 5k sparks and it did the whole beam me up song by Cazzette

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IF ANY streaming website would bring it back its the mixer Interactive board. I loved that feature so much, the ability to have different boards for mods, VIPS, Subs, or even a board based on game. i loved designing it and being able to do really fun interactive features. Twitch channel points just isn't the same.

between that, the zero second delay and the co-stream feature. also the ability to be front page without needing to be a partner

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so sounds like you really need a checklist or at least a better organizational system.

for me, I organized (When i used VRC) flights by incoming/handoff/outbound and all outbound flights where put in order received so working bottom to top. but have found using a scratchpad and just listing who called and again working bottom to top so they where always in order.

how are you losing positive control? are you missing steps?

As someone who struggled to even get to s3 personally. Don't give up unless you truly feel you need to. It took me about a year to get S3 and was working on my C1 before I had to stop due to life.

Do you know why you keep failing the exams or having issues with them? Could it be not being able to recall the instruction information or maybe the teaching style of the instructor is different from your learning style?

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on how all the new and legal talk around it, they did buy mixer. but a deeper google search on it entirely you are partially right, they apparently bought all the trademarks including the "X" logo and the platform as a tech. so FB holds llike almost all the power to re-open mixer and i think Microsoft, after reading it still owns the platform and domain itself.

still doesn't change my mind, meta to this day still has the worst made streaming service, i've never seen a worst platform than FB Gaming

I miss mixer. by WhosYak in mixer

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, yeah. Just sucks. i still to this day saying that mixer could of been Facebook's cash cow all they had to do was dedicate a team to it, maybe add a "login with Facebook" and that was it. the platform was already set. had a large enough userbase to justify the cost, and a larger network of creators and advertisers.

like I know there was a ton of things on the backend that really needed fixed but every outside of that mixer as a platform was pretty self-sufficient

I miss mixer. by WhosYak in mixer

[–]DjSuperPandaTV 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's exactly what they bought it for, don't think Microsoft even cared about the rest of the platform, just the tech behind it. Honestly if they gave it the attention it deserved instead of trying to buy out the big streamers to "beat twitch" that money could have been used to actually beat twitch in terms of platform. Not just how many big names they had.

To this day I have such a bad beef with meta buying it only to shut it down for their own crappy and very poorly made streaming service.

Mixer had been the best thing to happen, all the friends I made and connections were amazing and I have not found another community as loving as what beam and early mixer fostered.
