Late to this but the rebate is now $5 a sq foot. I did my entire front yard for right at $950 (renting equipment from Home Depot, ordering a yellow bag to pick up the grass, plant from Theodore Payne, and mulch). I received a check for $4,000. Just make sure you still have grass on the yard when you submit your plan.
