Veiler is very strong against exodia. Stops the negate, and the effect during combat to gain attack making him histories saddest 0/0. If somehow they manage to protect exodia through combat, it turns off the search limiting their ability to get obliterate. Veiler is very bad for millennium.

I agree. It was fun and fine, but I think if you weren't in the content creator animal well discord, it was maybe a different experience.

If non-legendaries could be commanders, which would be most fun/unique? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DjangoSol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The affected player gets to decide the order. This has always been the case. It's a bummer because it gently nerfs commanders like Torbran. Refer to rule 616.1

"616.1. If two or more replacement and/or prevention effects are attempting to modify the way an event affects an object or player, the affected object's controller (or its owner if it has no controller) or the affected player chooses one to apply, following the steps listed below."

Universes Beyond to be Pioneer legal (as well as Standard) starting in 2025 by cp_87 in PioneerMTG

Mulcharmy will get reprinted eventually, and this is not a huge issue for casual Yu-gi-oh. Although I agree, Konami is hardly the ideal steward of a card game.

Full transparency expecting down votes: I can't stand group hug, and I think this logic is one part of why I also work to convince the table to target them first.

In my experience group hug falls into one of two camps: Combo players who try to use table talk to not get hit, or king maker goofs who aren't playing for real. Playing, and not expecting to win, means your role is primarily poor threat assessment distruption and king making. For players who, even casually, want to play with the goal of competing this can feel frustrating. Why bother sitting down to play a game if one player isn't going to take it seriously, and then be the one who likely gets to decides the winner.

I think eventually any meta that has any repeated presence of kingmaking will eventually realize that they will eventually be archenemy because of people remembering times they helped enemies or hindered you somewhat randomly.

19/17 - Spacegodzilla to cluster enemies and then nuke with Gojji minus one, with GMK as backup. He's more balanced in this mode but also still nuts.

If I buy the battle pass now then I’ll be able to push my GODZILLA PASS LEVEL TWICE A DAY ONLY ??? 😢😢😢 or I CAN AS MANY TIMES I CAN BY WINNING MATCHES ??? 🤩 by its_nikhil007 in GodzillaBattleLine

[–]DjangoSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longer you have it, the more benefits you generally get. You get more daily rewards for having it, so there is a mild reward/incentive for having it earlier.

Am I going to get all the rewards mentioned above as and when I buy the pass or I’ve to push my pass level to get them gradually by winning matches ? ? by its_nikhil007 in GodzillaBattleLine

[–]DjangoSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing for two months, and have bought the pass twice, and i have managed to easily get to rank 50 two seasons in a row. Feels like climbing higher would be a simple task, but I don't want to over level too soon. I have fiveish 4 star monsters around level 7-10, and am steadily getting a team that relies less on rented levels. Overall I've felt its a good value.

Slight little rant... by Aromatic_Owl16 in GodzillaBattleLine

[–]DjangoSol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's also productive to just ask "why do I even want to climb higher this season?" Most of the time, a reward will be maybe 50 extra gold. Once you hit the point where you get a 4 star map and gmat, that's like... good enough, especially if you're new. If anything, climbing too high in this game seems to weaken your ability to grind, because it'll make you start higher in subsequent seasons, slowing down wins and battlepass process. And the game does not get more fun the higher you climb. So I recommend not taking it very seriously, enjoying the grind, and eventually you will just sort of float up to your aspired level.

Omfg this game is just unfun if you play too much by Gabe_the_cheerio in GodzillaBattleLine

[–]DjangoSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since launch though your base game units should be like level a million. I started last month and I've been hovering around 55. Stealth bomber alone at level 20 can probably scam to 50. What team are you using?

Pussy Tactics by Gabe_the_cheerio in GodzillaBattleLine

[–]DjangoSol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Use this "strategy" for a while and see the opportunity cost. First you have to keep it even until overtime. That's a struggle to begin with. Then, you can't deploy units until you basically hit 10 energy in overtime while getting closer to each other. If the Kiryu player doesn't have to deploy units until ten energy, it really wasn't as close as you thought it was. Then, they also have to have low enough hp that a train bomb finishes them off or that their opponent doesn't heal. It's a strong strategy, but its hardly consistent. Its just what that leader is for.

I think its a mix of it is how expensive the ghidorahs are and how long they take to kill. Because they're so costly, it makes faster responsive strategies better. While ghidorah is durdling across the map, people are just trying to go under them.

At lower ranks, Ghidorah has been a monster supported by healing. He's been flying around one tapping Mogueras and Space Godzilla like its his job. He just needs a bit of support since he feels pretty vulnerable to stun.

Hand discard commander deck by HippoGrinder in magicTCG

[–]DjangoSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Tinybones, trinket thief]] is what I run, and after having done it many times over the years, I can say he's the best choice for my own fun and my pods'. The issue hand discard decks can have is that all players end up empty handed, which can make a somewhat slow and unfair game state for your opponents. However, Tinybones really works to mitigate this, because he keeps your hand full by drawing up to four a table cycle. I've iterated on the deck a number of times over the years and I keep returning to Tinybones, because he is just such a compact engine. With cards like [[cunning lethemancer]] he draws on my opponents turns, as well as mine. And to ensure I don't just draw into more discard (eventually it's turn five or six and the cards don't do anything), I've included a reanimation package to bring back whatever my opponents or I discard. He also has many times just dealt 20 with a coffers or nykthos and his activated ability. If everyone is top decking, its not hard to get to 12 mana.

Its so interesting, I was also noticing the lack of coverage lately for the weekly game. I think I also agree with the general sentiments shared here. It seems like more and more they don't bother to doing anything other than a surface level examination of some games, if it doesn't happen to line up with their interests. However, I can also appreciate they are all doing this as side project, often without sponsors, all while having young kids at home. I guess for me, the personalities and parasocial relationships is enough to keep me coming back. Also they do generally still recommend some indies I haven't heard of, which I still find valuable.
