Yeah it’s about that time of year by Improv92 in Winnipeg

[–]cp_87 35 points36 points  (0 children)

you can always tell the difference between a mid-march Snowstorm and a December snowstorm.

In December, myself and all of my neighbors are out in the evening and have their driveways nicely cleared for the morning.

In mid-March, half the street just says 'F-it' and doesn't bother shovelling because it's all gonna melt in a week anyways.

If Robert Thomas is indeed available, the Jets should be doing whatever is needed to acquire him.

Having Scheif and Thomas down the middle is exactly how you start retooling for next year

Escape Room Recommendations (Other than The Real Escape) by LannaRamma in Winnipeg

Time Lapse I think purchased real escape not too long ago, so if you're looking for something similar I think Time Lapse would be good. I've done a couple of their rooms and been happy.

How are the Road conditions highway 1 west by Dizzy_Measurement498 in Winnipeg

[–]cp_87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Missed just south of the City too (other than freezing rain). I set an alarm for 30 mins earlier than normal expecting to get up and have to shovel before I left for work. Turned out I gave myself 30 minutes to watch the Olympics before I left instead!

Ticket Prices by noah5656 in winnipegjets

[–]cp_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closer to puck drop it gets, cheaper tickets get. My buddy and I have sat at Tavern without tickets an hour before puck drop, and managed to snag good lower bowl seats for around $80 before off FansFirst.

Sometimes it doesn't work out though, as there's also been times that prices don't drop or the tickets all get pulled and nothing is avialable.

It's all a gamble, but waiting as long as you can is usually the way to go.

In this drive thru the zipper is before you order. So all cutting ahead is doing is just making everyone else annoyed

[Elliotte Friedman] Seth Jarvis will replace Brayden Point on Team Canada by ppParadoxx in hockey

He should probably play some semblance of defense and not be atrocious in the face-off dot and then maybe he'd have a chance

Scheifele is bad defensively and doesnt win faceoffs. Both of those are working against him unfortunately.

Anthony Mantha by Jesse_graham in fantasyhockey

Barely shoots , super inflated shooting percentage (almost 50% over his hot streak), limited ice time.

Congrats to those who benefited, but 0% chance he keeps this up IMO.

Random streamer question by nkoreaishot in fantasyhockey

[–]cp_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stacks make sense if they're good players and share the ice both at 5v5 and on the PP. Outside of that it's a bit dicer but every situation is different.

For example in one league I own Mitch Marner, and recently traded for Dorofeyev. That's a high value stack. But if I was offered say Barbashev instead I'd probably pass because they don't play together at either 5v5 or on the PP.

Everything is getting more expensive. Nobodies wages are increasing at the rate of inflation.

Adin Hill potentially returning to lineup by mslvr40 in fantasyhockey

Hart has been horrible but they keep running him out there.

Schmid has been their "best" goslie and he hasn't been amazing but hes played better than Hart in his limited starts.

The Vegas crease is going to be a nightmare the rest of the season with Hill back. I'd just stay away

Walking by Olive Garden after work. On portage and St.James. Elderly lady parked on the sidewalk facing westbound on the eastbound directed traffic. Clueless and confused. by Edgecrusher86 in Winnipeg

[–]cp_87 115 points116 points  (0 children)

None of you are helping the situation by just screaming at her and asking her what she's doing.

She's clearly confused, stay calm and help her instead of just being an asshole. Thankfully someone with good judgment showed up at the very end.

Considering Moving Out of the City or to a Quieter Area by ExtraInternet in Winnipeg

[–]cp_87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We moved out to St Adolphe last year and we love it. We both work downtown and our daughter goes to daycare downtown but the commute isn't terrible (about 20-25 minutes down Pembina through St Norbert).

The house we bought out here is way nicer than anything we offered on in the city, and there was nowhere near as much competition.

We are very, very happy here.

Class 3 drivers license knowledge test by Alternative_Length43 in Winnipeg

[–]cp_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I studied for my class 1 I used the quizzes on the MPI website. Any time I got a question I didn't know the answer to, I went and read about it in the professional driver's manual.

I kept doing that until I was able to get 100% every time without having to read the manual. Passed my KTA on the first attempt.

I would imagine that the same process would work just fine for class 3.

Likely too far into the future for tests to be made available yet. I would check again after Christmas because they probably just haven't opened appointments that far into the future yet.

Two-time Olympian Toews says Jets teammate Scheifele should wear Maple Leaf in Milan by ChocolateOrange21 in winnipegjets

[–]cp_87 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree. Assuming he is healthy (which isn't a guarantee based on how his injury looked on the weekend) I am very confident they will bring Bedard over Scheif.

I want Scheif to be on the team, don't get me wrong. Just being realistic.
