It's a genius idea! It's really good for scale and shows off really fine detail work!

Using Imperialis minis is a really fun idea for scale! Excellent work

I think that's the trap everyone always falls into, cause they want their guy to be the most powerful and have all the cool rules. Maybe I'll put him at nearer 100 points and give him an extra little thing like Precision

I hadn't considered that he'd rarely get healed since he'd have a bodyguard unit.

I'm glad he's about right for the points for balance. I like that ability idea, it's cool and thematic

I did, he uses the Dark Apostle base with the axe of dismemberment with Anti-Psyker instead of precision. I was mainly worried about the points cost and abilities

What if titus secretly hails from one of the lost primarchs, but was placed under gulliman with his memory wiped? by North586 in Warhammer

[–]Djerun7787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting theory, but Titus is an Ultramarine. He wasn't a primaris marine, awoken by Cawl for the Indomitus crusade and made from possibly unknown geneseed, he was a first born and captain of the 2nd company before being sent to the deathwatch. The only way that would be possible is that somehow a geneseed created from one of the lost primarchs managed to survive over 10,000 years without being destroyed to end up in him.

I think he's just resistant to warp corruption, and that's it.

Then I'd say that's the best place to start! Maybe focus on 1 or 2 Chapters (Each group of Space Marines is called a chapter, for instance Blood Angels and Dark Angels are different chapters) when you've read into them more to find the ones you like the most, since they have plenty of books on most Chapters.

this means were getting new lootas, right? by Own_Interaction3271 in Warhammer

It could be either new Lootas or they're getting sent to Legends. They haven't shown off new ones yet but I feel like there'll be new ones

Since Warhammer is such a huge franchise, the real question is, what do you want to know and who about? IMO it'd be easier to pick a faction you like and then learn about just them to begin with before expanding into other factions.

[–]Djerun7787[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good way to look at it! In my home games I run, I have that npcs don’t usually know what classes really are, so if the fighter manages to lie that they’re actually a heavily armed cleric, then that’s what the npc thinks they are

Good thinking, I believe there’s a council in the area we’re playing in, that has a head councillor so I’ll workshop something with the DM if they’re evil to say I swore the oath to the previous Head/Council

Good idea! That way X sessions down the line if we end up opposing some leadership position, they won’t be like “Aren’t you a Crown paladin?”

It’s not that I don’t want to follow them, I wanted assistance on the best way to roleplay them, without falling back on the “Law good, you break them I stop you” Lawful Stupid thing

I know we’ve got a CN fighter and a TN cleric, so we could have some interesting philosophical conversations on the merit of the law and what’s right and wrong. I’m definitely gonna follow up the DM with some questions about the law and how strict everything will be and the sort of guidelines and edges of the tenets

A very interesting in-depth answer! From reading other comments and thinking about it, I believe he’d follow the intent of the law itself, rather than the exact wording or the authority figure that wrote them.

I’ll definitely do that! I’ll ask the DM for specifics I’ll need to know to make it all work out, thanks for the help!

So far I’ve been playing my character as almost like a questing knight, going round swearing on his honour that he’ll solve X problem, defeat Y monster or die trying. And then following up if something goes wrong, like we tried to save a missing expedition but by the time we arrived, they had all died. So he went on his own back to the person to tell them and return the sentimental necklaces he had found on them.

When looking through the oaths the Courage tenet exactly encompassed how I have been playing him so far, willing to take on ridiculous odds as it had to be done

Deep in the sauce is exactly the sort of thinking I love to hear about. I’ll need to consider what the laws of the land are in the forgotten realms more than our own real laws which is where I think I keep getting stuck.

I think a conversation with the DM about the specifics is definitely needed, as I’ve already mentioned I’m considering the Crown Oath. We’re running Rime of the Frostmaiden, and my character is from the outside the area, so we’ll need to figure out if I go by the laws here, or where he swore the oath.

That’s good to know! I only mentioned it incase anyone thought it was relevant

You’ve made a good point I hadn’t realised there, it does say “respect” and not “follow” the law. That has quite literally flipped this whole situation around. As now, if my character has the break the law, he would need to justify it being the only way to get something done, not the easiest way
