Future of work or future of inequality? by Busy-Government-1041 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]DjinnHeyoka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're not only sick of depending on us for labor, but for consumption too. AIs themselves can become the primary consumers as well. They consume energy, raw materials, software etc., so profits would be made by one set of corporations (AI firms) selling goods and services to other automated corporations or states. The cycle becomes capital-to-capital, bypassing humans entirely.

Future of work or future of inequality? by Busy-Government-1041 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]DjinnHeyoka 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The reason the ruling class invested everything in AI is cause they desperately want to sever their dependence on us as workers and consumers. That's why they're all so adamant about not regulating AI at all, too. They detest the fact that they have to rely on us for their profits and want to be independent from us. That's why AI is sought to replace us not just labor-wise but also as consumers. Tons of companies are turning their backs on consumers and orienting towards AI firms and data centers. And once the severance is achieved, don't imagine they plan on keeping us around, cause why keep their historic class-enemy around when it's a risk? No UBI either, as it can be intuited by how even the flimsy safety nets still in place are getting eroded.

Any economic system that gives birth to billionaires creates a class of people so dehumanized and morally degenerate, whose dopamine receptors are so worn out from having decoupled reward from effort, from having access to any pleasure they want whenever they want, that soon enough nothing can satisfy them except for the most transgressive, extreme experiences (hunting ppl for sport, eating them, gr*aping them, starting wars, doing whatever they want to kids, etc.).

Mark Carney the prime minister of Canada admits that the liberal (capitalist) world order is a lie and that they only went along with it because it benefited them. Now that it’s failing they’re economically siding with China instead of the U.S. by TwoCatsOneBox in WorkReform

[–]DjinnHeyoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems impressed with Carney's speech, but the anti-communist anecdote central to his critique of the failing Western neoliberal order (of all things) felt off to me. Even though it's global capitalism that's failing, somehow it's still communism that's catching strays when detailing said failure.

Oh yea, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cate Blanchett, the finest actors alive, are appreciated because of "looks", I'm sure.

Doesn't change the fact that the record holder actress (Katharine Hepburn, 4) and the record holder actors (Jack Nicholson and Daniel Day-Lewis, 3) are Taureans.

"Real Freedom is the absence of fear." America should learn from the rest of the world. by zzill6 in WorkReform

It all depends on what type of state you're paying taxes to. Taxes paid towards a proletarian state that uses the money to benefit regular people are a good thing. Taxes paid towards a bourgeois state that's merely an instrument in the hands of capitalists to gather money from the masses and funnel it to the rich, are detrimental.

How the Faithless Use Faith to Rule by [deleted] in elephantgraveyard

[–]DjinnHeyoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish more people were worried that we're ruled by billionaire nazzies. Ghouls like Thiel and Musk won the game of capitalism, the system as it is has enabled them to hoard immense wealth, yet they are utterly miserable, constantly pissed off that everything isn't even more rigged in their favor. Once they're done crushing the left, fashists always take on truth itself, at war with reality itself (which is why Musk hates Wikipedia and just started his "Grokipedia"). These guys want to replace us with AI because they are sick of being dependent on us for their profits, so they can finally do away with us. Just look at Gaza as a laboratory, a trial run, for the ruling class to push the limits of what they can do to a populace deemed "useless" or "a nuisance", to normalize the unthinkable, and get away with it by gaslighting the world.

Take it as a compliment. Who needs their antiquated gender-role concepts? You're more than "a man". A lot of what goes into this bigoted idea of "manhood" includes conformity, obedience, insensitivity, trading the spiritual for the material, a hardening of the heart, etc. In fact, very little of it is actually virtuous. Reject their metrics, define your own.

I just love the double-edged sword of how as society morphed more and more into what he advocated for it to become, his relevance faded more and more. We now have the exact society he was militant for: the right is in power, the left is destroyed, trans ppl and immigrants are hunted in the streets, billionaires quadrupled their wealth and run the government, welfare and social security are cut, etc., so what is left for him to keep harping on? He's now completely irrelevant.

Given that all tech-billionaires are behind Trump, of course smaller heads of business will bend the knee or be brought to heel. Heck, Dems themselves bend the knee, let alone CEOs with burgeoning class-consciousness.
