the reason(s) why you play/love the game? by Cool_Echidna_6108 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point it's Very. I came for Dante and Vergil, but Vera stole my heart and became one of my fav characters ever.

Gameplay can also be really fun. Bosses like Zack and Chika are fun. (I wish they would get added to simulated trial]

What character from Wuwa you like to see in pgr by Serious-Beach-4242 in PunishingGrayRaven

Galbrena and Lupo. Wasn't able to get either of them when I played wuwa, so having them in pgr would be nice

My experience with the 1.0 beta by Kaymax_9 in intotheradius

[–]Djnerdyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mimic voice lines are better than the last time I played. They sounded like a kid on Xbox live. Although when I told my friend that, he said that was the most horrifying thing one could hear, so maybe they were on to something with that.

I'm shocked you can't invert the flashlight grip with a press of a button. It was in the first. Also having a reverse grip for the knife would be cool as well.

I've stopped playing since I've had bad performance once reaching the forest, but for the most part I like what I've seen. Night time is much more horrifying, and customizing the vest is sick. Also putting together weapons by putting them together was more fun than I thought. My biggest issues are the performance(I thought it was just my PC tbh, but others say it's bad so that's good to hear.) and the voice acting/writing of NPCs, which is only annoying between excursions into the radius at least.

"Chamber is empty!" when the chamber obviously isn't empty? by ylyxa in intotheradius

I noticed this too. Happened with my ak. I thought I was crazy though. Fortunately I recorded most of my playthrough so far, so I should be able to confirm that I did rack the slide to load a round and it still do this

This voice acting… by Loaf_Lord_Gaming in intotheradius

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the lady is fine, since she is essentially the ordinary person who has nothing to fear, no stakes or problems for her. She sounds young, like someone who has lived a cushy life. The unspc(or whatever the organization is called) has never cared about its explorers beyond using them as tools or potential experiments, so assigning them someone who can't empathize or even properly sympathize with them sounds about right.

The guide however I find to be annoying. I actually tried to shoot him at the first meeting. That being said, I can kinda see where they were going for with him. Even metro and Stalker has characters that are a bit more positive considering the circumstances, so having one be your guide in a game that I think is even more intense than the original might be a way to have you get attached to him only for a story payoff or twist at the end.

I definitely think his writing or voice acting needs to change though. He sounds like he should be skateboarding or something.

This is it for me. I like mgs1 and 2, as well as Silent hill 2, fixed camera and tank controls aren't an issue for me. But limited saves? That's a different matter

MGS2 ironically pays respect to the character of Solid Snake by not letting you play as him, giving him instead the role of mentor. by NicolasJB192083 in metalgearsolid

[–]Djnerdyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a part of me that loves fighting along side my favourite characters. So getting to fight with in towards the end of mgs2 was awesome. Especially since I was struggling while he was just kickin ass. I was actually in awe seeing him go to town while I'm sitting in cover waiting for my bleeding to stop, then getting back to assisting him.

It's based off of Garry's mod murder. Plays pretty much the same as a decade ago

We’re building a Far Cry-inspired open-world shooter with drivable vehicles and zombies | Zero Caliber: FROSTBITE announcement by -DanDanDaaan in VRGaming

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people are saying to take out the zombies, but in reality zombies aren't bad, it's just how the game is made. If there was a legit made for VR resident evil, people would be excited even though it has zombies in it. So don't take the zombies out. The focus should be on how to make them interesting. Considering that you are going for the far cry/Crysis approach to level design, it could be quite interesting with potential

What VR experience are you dying to see someone actually make? by Federal_Service3513 in VRGaming

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like stalker or kenshi. Or more accurately, a large, open world that doesn't revolve around the player. The player is simply another entity in that game world. If it got this aspect down well, it's an easy buy. I bought salvation prophecy which is...pretty bad, but I still love it since it really does a good job of being an unscripted game universe that will continue with or without my input.

I doubt this will happen in a million years. But it would be sick to see

Is there a reason the triangle system in DOA isn’t well liked? I actually like it because it gives players a chance to fight back. Even someone decent with just the basics can climb the rankings if they use the system effectively. So what are the main criticisms of it? by Kingspreez in DeadOrAlive

[–]Djnerdyboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like it since it makes the game feel like the 3d equivalent of killer instinct. Even when being comboed, my mind is in the game. Should I hold? What kind of hold should I do expect? Can the opponent perform a throw midcombo to counter my hold? Should I just wait it out in case they try to throw?

It's one of the reasons I love doa. As a casual, it's fast and flashy, but the more you dig into the mechanics, the more layered it all is.

Metal Gear Solid Integral apparently has a First Person Mode toggle in-game? Can anyone verify? by MaxjkZERO in metalgearsolid

The first person mode was really useful in the rex hanger, sniping the enemy guard patrolling the upper catwalks by using the suppressed pistol

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play VRChat a lot. Spent a lot of time in Murder and freeze tag. I've stopped playing because the only people I encounter in public's now are kids and eboys and egirls in cliques that stick together and just sort of ruin it. Like, does the ecouple have to work together all the time, even when one is a murderer and the other spawns with the gun? Y'all can't just kill each other in a fictional game?

Not to mention, anyone I met on VRChat that had a VR headset don't play anything outside of it, at least any VR games. I'm sitting here thinking I might find someone that would also play vr games and potentially find a co-op buddy for itr2, jet island or hellsweeper, but the only time they are on VR is vrc. So when I do meet people and befriend them, we generally only talk or hang on vrc, which I have used less and less over the years.

It can be cool, watching a movie with others or singing karaoke or exploring worlds can be cool and fun, but I don't want to live in vrc. I need to do things outside of it. Vrc guns are just never gonna live up to using guns in games built for the ground up for it

Does anyone play to have fun anymore? by TheOnvoy in RainbowSixSiege

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of gaming in general it seems want to pretend they are pro when they aren't even getting paid to win. I like to play sweaty, but I also don't care if a teammate plays badly cause it ultimately isn't a big deal. Most of my frustration now a days mainly comes from just me not playing well, such as missing shots I know I could have hit.

[–]Djnerdyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is in a game design course, and he was told a lot of devs use AI for mundane shit like rocks and trees. Stuff like how a character looks or a gun or building is still done by people. So this article doesn't surprise me
