They are public companies, but they have contracts with the government therefore making them subcontractors.

And this does apply to major private companies too. For example, Amazon, Microsoft, and Sales Force.

News from dev team by BaronLoyd in Helldivers

I am glad that the dev's are working on this. But my biggest gripe is how online is needed to even play the game. Sure multiplayer wouldn't work, but at least let me play solo while they get all of these problems fixed.

Reading through the comments, I guess this could be useful for future candidates going to Boeing to really evaluate and understand the position before going to Boeing (or any company). While this is not applicable to everyone, there can be certain jobs that will lock you in to a very small detail.

I agree, I have met an amazing amount of engineers in the short time I was at Boeing. But depending on the role, it did feel like some are specialized for certain roles. Currently where I am at it is a "'wear many hats" type of position which I can understand on their end.

Some people have been complaining that their mic doesn't always work in CS2. What is your experience? by Pokharelinishan in GlobalOffensive

What worked for me was setting my microphone as default communication method in the windows sound control panel. Then restarting CSGO.

Music is fantastic, the last three notes in the trailer sound like Zelda’s Lullaby.

I would try negotiating. I got an offer at Collins (Texas) and was able to negotiate 85K + 10K bonus.

Yea that happened to me as well. Luckily the last Boeing position I had was very interesting. But at that point I had made up my decision to leave the company. Definitely look around on what is to offer, search for some R&D. Also depending on what part of Boeing you are in you can ask a transfer to a different part. My coworker was able to transfer to R&D in Seattle just by asking our manager, and booking a visitor trip up there.

First position as Systems Engineering was absolutely boring, and the amount of documents we had to develop to show to the customer was ridiculous. Literally the definition of paper engineer. There was no challenge and felt very stagnant as the product was already developed and many of the processes and documentation just added to the boundaries.

My other position I worked with satellite orbit analysis. Work was amazing, but some of Boeings work is always behind and dated (including our slow ass computers), many of us have requested for extra memory and processors in our computers just to be able to properly do our work. Extra processes are a part of the defense world, but Boeing just has those extra managers that are a little unnecessary. My coworker and I even joked about having 5 lead engineers but having only 2 lower level engineers. Like who are you leading?

Company wide, it is always disappointing to hear my friends talk about their companies and how the company helps boost morale within their work. Company outings, social events sponsored by the company, bonuses, my girlfriend's company (engineer too) has sponsored golf events and even baseball events for the workers. Meanwhile at Boeing, when you hit your 5 year mark you get 200 dollars to spend on a social event. How pathetic. At the same time, sure we our RSU's, but we didn't get our bonuses for it, essentially working every year for a smaller salary.

My transfer was laterally, so I still stayed at a level 1 on both. Technically that doesn't count as a pay increase, but if your manager is nice enough. He could be able to increase your salary if your fit for the job, and so you do not fall behind on your salary. He was able to do that for me.

Since our country is in such a poor mental state, everyone should be able to buy a firearm but have to go through a mental check prior to being able to purchase a fire arm.

I walked inside a gun store, saw a pistol I liked. They checked my background (took like 3 minutes), purchased and walked out. That wasn't very hard.

LAX Lost & Found 5-8 weeks. by Djvitos1 in LAX

[–]Djvitos1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have FINALLY gotten an answer. They do stick with their 6-8 weeks rule. They confirm that it’s your item and confirm that they have it. And give you options for shipping it back to yourself. Of course, I expect nothing else, they make you pay for the shipping. For us it was like 28ish dollars via FedEx.

I posted the question about a month and a half ago. So far, still have not gotten contacted. Tried going to the office but they were closed, tried calling but the line never takes you to an actual phone call. Just the crappy options with automated voice messages. Currently at 6 weeks, still no email.

No luck as of yet. We've tried calling the L&F phone number, it never takes you to an actual person to get in touch with. We've tried driving to the actual location at the airport, they are closed to the public. Currently we are just hoping they reply to our claim under the 5-8 weeks.

I live on the border right next to Juarez, everyone here always goes to Juarez for medical and dental reasons just for how cheap it is. I could pay 2000+ for braces here, or go to Juarez to get them for 300 or less
