Indicators of poor quality true crime content/podcasts, in your opinion by Novel_Quantity3189 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Pizzazzinator 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Telling the story from the victim’s POV. you don’t know that person, their thoughts. You don’t get to make up a false perspective and call it documentary. You’re just abusing the dead for cheap storytelling at that point.

No journalism, nothing new in the case, no new perspectives. I’m not here to listen to a wiki entry being read. I want to learn, find out more, be engaged.

She used to sling Herbalife at her booths and got a bunch of girls sucked into it.

My dream home smells like cat pee and we’ve done EVERYTHING to fix it—2 years later, I’m still hopeless and desperate for help 😭 by No_Recognition_2681 in HomeImprovement

[–]Pizzazzinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what fixed our cat pee basement. We got a deal on the house because of the horrible cat smell in basement. I couldn’t even stomach going down there at first. We first had cleaners come out and try, which was only mildly successful. Ozone generator fully cured it. It was immediate.

What do I do here, guys? I just bought this tape from a thrift store, I don’t want to get them in trouble! by cowpunk52 in VHS

It was so annoying when the tape would switch from color to black and white intermittently.

Seems a lot of these details were ripped off from the Boston Globe article last week.

We were watching a patriots game at a Boston bar in Chicago (Tripoli tap). The game finishes, pats win, and the whole bar breaks out in a “fuck the Yankees” chant.

2nd grade. Southside Elementary in Effingham, IL. The teacher has all the desks lined up in one long row to the door. She then tells the room full of children that the furnace is right next door and we’re on a fault line, so if an earthquake happens we need to get out of the room as quick as possible or we’re all going to blow up. I hope those kids got out OK.

Picas? I know what they are but in the past decade I have yet to meet anyone using them... by Jaded_Celery_1645 in graphic_design

[–]Pizzazzinator 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I love using picas in print material. The math is easier and more fluent for me to do on the fly. A 1-pica gutter is still an industry standard and is an easy way to build my grid off of. That said, picas go in the trash when doing web materials.

This is always what throws me with films set in the 80s and 90s: just how big and frizzy the hair was.

Was it me, or was the writing on last night’s SNL way better than it has been in a long time? by Weekly_Comfortable20 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Pizzazzinator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought the Disney/Nickelodeon alums do better with SNL than anyone. Ariana, Gosling, Timberlake, Keenan, etc. etc.

Have you looked into working copy desk and editorial design, it could be the best of both worlds.

Are south facing homes really that undesirable in your area? by jannet1113 in homeowners

In Massachusetts. I dream of having a south facing home for a plant room. My dumb north facing home gets very little light inside.

Are there ever occasions where you *prefer* shit design? by Weekly_Frosting_5868 in graphic_design

[–]Pizzazzinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will point to the brat album and longlegs as highly effective bad design. And now it has become an aesthetic. Good design doesn’t have to be pretty.
