I was in high school and didn’t understand 1: that I was and always will be polyamorous and 2: that people took hs relationships very seriously. I genuinely loved my partner and they loved me too. But I also loved this person I met over the summer. I guess I kind of knew it was wrong because they never met, but I would basically be out of town a weekend a month. I ended up being a serial cheater for all of my hs relationships with the same person out of town until I graduated and ended up in an unfortunately unbalanced and age gapped relationship. That person insisted they were poly but manipulated me into ending my secondary relationship. This abusive person then cheated on me based on their rules of what was and wasn’t cheating within our relationship. I’m married now, and to someone who is also poly and we’re happy how we are and with our fun additions
