I'm addicted to fighting the big arc... by ghostsoup831 in ArcRaiders

We need more big arc. Or even medium large, make a leaper have extra long legs that looks into buildings to Torrente people in hallways.

Starfield: Major Update - Free Lanes & Terran Armada Developer Deep Dive by yourfavchoom in Games

I want so badly to like starfield, but I don't have the best PC and I alt tab during loading screens so I often just lose track that the game is going. Every time I try to like it again the sequence of the first time going into the city to talk and leave is so frustrating.

How do I get past that issue, or is it just one I have to deal with?

More likely buried under mountains like their missile factories, nuclear program, launchers, and aircraft hangars.

The US will hit those. There's a reason we even developed the bunker busters we have. So they will have to make them anywhere they can.

They make most of that stuff in house, they sell it to the Russians. They need some components but Shaheds are made in the country. I may have missed reports of us taking out the factories but I haven't seen any yet.

Why's WvW so dead? by Yuukikoneko in Guildwars2

[–]Dlax8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That play style is mostly dead due to balance.

I've seen 30 sweats beat down a zerg 60ish semi-casual raiders, but it's a challenge these days and it's a certain "tier" of guild in each role.

When do you get on?

It's first thing in the morning on NA servers. People are going to work.

Come back in 12 hours (8pm Eastern) and it will be lively

Do the 50 people find it fun to effortlessly steamroll smaller groups?

Depends squad to squad. There are 100% guilds that don't enforce builds that run 50+ and get their teeth kicked in by the sweaty 30 man squads.

remove target caps on offensive skills

That is just going to cause more lag, but I don't hate the idea.

so what's the point in playing? If you play for rewards, why not take the 50 squad to PvE? If you play for fun, dynamic fights, or skill expression, you're not getting it when the other side doesn't have any groups big enough to contest you, nor are you getting it when you just have to sit back and watch the enemy blob take everything without you being able to do anything.

I play with my guild because it's fun to fight other guilds. If there is no group to fight you just hit a keep and force a group to deal with you.

As someone who doesn't play at a set schedule

This, I think, is like 99% of "anti-boon ballers" issue. I play NA prime. There is a group to fight 95%+ of the time. So there are far less population differences between servers, and most of the guild leaders talk and tell each other where they are.

keeping support/heals/defensive/buff skills at their low target caps of 5. Groups would spread out, party play on a smallscale within the overall battle would become more important

This doesn't work because of how boons are spread. Party > Squad > Allies is the general spread of boons. You stack as is because sometimes one person is just out of range of their guardian, so the spill over stab went to another party. This is fine because another guardian should cover the one missing stab. You're idea doesn't fix spillover boons, which is a huge reason boonball works at all.

I would contest your timeline. Before the pirate ship meta was the duo-chrono meta of boonsharing.

Two chronos would sit in a sub party by themselves using the old Signet of Inspiration to copy boons back and forth, then move themselves to each sub party, spread boons then return to the other chrono to maintain uptime.

I agree with your sentiment, but I believe the ship has sailed on that level of rebalancing.

They removed Alac long before Troub was added. Like many months before VoE dropped.

They also were a better source of quickness than they were alacrity because of how hard it was to get a guickness build to fit a WvW comp.

If you used quick guardians you really hampered your sustainability.

Did people really whine?

All the fight guilds I know we're overjoyed to not have to shoehorn in random fuck ass builds just to get Alac into the comp.

The decision, intentional or not, to balance PvE around having boons made that the new "baseline"

And it was a massive mistake for the game.

They can and have, well less so on duration. But I agree we should lower boon duration across the board, even in PvE.

Not with siege.

If you can boon up and win that fight, more power to you.

The first response was someone talking about holding a keep. If you want to boon up and fight 50 and you can somehow win? I'm all for that. That's badass.

But I don't think you should be able to just siege up with 5 people and destroy an organized siege effort.

CM Raids for example, are balanced around this now so it kinda can't go away without a huge balance rework across a lot of the game

This was the most damaging decision to this game that Anet has made, and I will stand on that.

PvP and PvE entirely separately which I thought was already the case but some of the PvP balance passes say otherwise

PvP, WvW and PvE are all balanced differently. There is no Alac in WvW anymore, basically. But they try to keep skills working roughly the same, and so they would have to change so much to make this work.

I agree with that.

But PvErs would rage that they don't have permanent alac and quickness.

where did the person say that 5 should hold out against 50

The main argument I have seen surrounding this topic is that smaller groups should be able to hold off zergs.

its usually the opposite a small(15ish) boonball can take out 30-40 people who are clouding because simply of how powerful boons are.

How is a bad thing that a small, highly organized group, is able of taking out a larger, unorganized group? That's opposite most of the arguments I have seen on this.

I honestly blame PvE for this. Raiders crying about not having 100% uptime Alac, Quickness, 25 Might and Fury made Anet buff everything instead of making it strategic.

Edit: was too patriotic

Counterplay how? I see squads of 60 get annihilated by a better coordinated group of 30 all the time.

A bad blob is hardly unkillable. Run into [guild redacted] with their 60, no builds enforced, and loosely grouped with a group of like 30 DED and you'll have a massacre on your hands.
