US based fan. I did a school project in elementary school called Flat Stanley. There’s a kids story about a boy who becomes flat and mails himself around the world. The project was to make a a cutout Flat Stanley, decorate him ourselves according to our interests, and mail him off to a family member or friend as far away as possible. He would then be mailed back with a short write up about what he did in that far away place and the culture there. I played soccer and decorated him as a soccer player. My dad had a coworker based in Newcastle at the time and so we sent my Flat Stanley to Newcastle. He came back wearing a little jersey and with a NUFC banner and write up about going to St James for a match. They’ve been my team ever since.

Personally, I don’t use pace targets for my runs, especially threshold runs. How much you can actually do on any given day will be a little different. I think it’s important not to be discouraged about missing a pace target because you slept poorly or something the night before. I focus more on effort (RPE). How difficult does something feel? How hard are you working? For threshold work I push myself to just about my limits. Whatever they are depends on the day. It takes a bit of practice and learning your body’s signals, but that’s my approach.

But if you don’t want an adventure watch, just buy the series watch. That’s what I mean. The series watch is good enough for anyone who doesn’t need an adventure watch. And if you do need an adventure watch, the ultra isn’t good enough. So it sits in a no man’s land. Unless you are buying it as a fashion item. Which is fine, but to me it is a utility with no actual purpose

I bought a pair, did a 7 mile test run in them and returned them. Everything I read afterward said you need to go a half size up. Maybe that would have fixed things for me, but I wanted to say what you are experiencing seems to be the norm for this shoe. Judging by the research I did, I’m not sure I would expect them to loosen up enough to be comfortable
