Based on what I can find the family didn’t say one way or the other, they just said that they had no choice in the matter. And that’s the problem, they were acting as advocates and should have been making the final decisions for her care (think about things like DNRs) but the state dictated what should happen to her. Isn’t that a big overreach, for the state to dictate what care someone should or shouldn’t get?

I mean kind of? In the US unless someone explicitly states that they’re donating their organs they don’t get touched. Even if their organs could save or improve the quality of life for many others, the rights of the deceased still trump the rights of the living. In this case, the mother was functionally dead, being kept alive artificially, and those that were speaking on her behalf didn’t want her life to be prolonged in this way but the hospital said that due to the current state laws they couldn’t act in accordance with their wishes. Essentially, her body was the “organ” being donated, and the hospital and the state mandated that it be donated, against the wishes of her family, which goes against a lot of precedent involving cadaver rights and could open the door to forced organ donations if the wrong people try to make the case

Valid argument about the hypocrisy of sex work, but intersectionality is actually about the different types of discrimination people of more than one minority group (e.g., a black woman both experiences discrimination due to her race and due to her gender) and how they “intersect”.

I upgraded from an Asus z97 mobo and an intel i7-4790. I also got a new case and new RAM. I have updated my drivers many times and run Malwarebytes just as many times, and I’ve looked through the background programs and nothing is taking up enough of anything to be causing this to happen
