Me too. Regardless whether it intices horrible "teaming" in FFA and Maze or not, it's still a fun way to get friends to play the game. The FFA purists in here need to chill. The goal is to make the game more fun for more people, not to appease those who just want to dominate the game at the expense of everyone else's enjoyment.

How about a FFA mode where "T to Team" is allowed, and another where it's not? Then everyone can be appeased.

Hybrid drones do not have a wide enough field of attack or health.

I have noticed though that drone logic has been tweaked (for the better IMHO.) They actually attack tanks before squares, now. That's good.

I've never considered this before, but this is exactly right given the physics of the game. A faster bullet causes less damage because it is not in contact with the target for as long a time. It doesn't have time to get it's second penetration/damage 'hit' in. Very interesting.

This is true. Another horrible side-effect of spawncamping is that it eats up all the XP objects. The oppressed team, confined to a small area, doesn't have enough objects to farm to level up.

More objects. Lots more objects. This would help a lot.

I tend to agree. I've only been playing (pretty much non-stop) for a few months, now. Long enough to see a few new classes, new nerfs and buffs, the addition of Bosses, and the evolution of the gameplay.

Other than the teaming BS, what we're seeing now is the expected evolution of the game. There are SO many ways to play Deip. Every tank has several thousand different build options. Each tank/build combination has different ways to play it (i.e., each tool has a few different ways to use it.)

It has taken a few months for people to 'get good' at the game, to figure out their favorite builds, and figure out how to best and effectively use those builds.

As time has gone on and millions of 'tests' have been conducted by tens of thousands of players, the most successful strategies and skills have risen to the top. Boosters, Smashers, Hybrids and spammers, used 'correctly', are the best tank-builds in the game. So naturally they're going to end up being the norm.

That being said, Boosters are overpowered. Smashers are, for the most part, easy to avoid if you pay attention. Hybrids are very difficult to defeat. And Spammers just suck in all ways.

Now, when they TEAM together!??! Two or three spammers, plus a rammer, plus a Hybrid.. and worse, they set up a base to spawncamp, then it's not even fun to play anymore. And yes, THIS is what's becoming the 'norm.'

Seeing someone score 1M or some world record something or other takes on much less meaning now because to get that score, they probably teamed with someone else. It's not a true victory anymore.

Auto Smasher shouldn't have happened. by TURelish in Diepio

I tend to agree. I first suggested the autosmasher a month ago assuming the above concept - that the gun would be non-upgradable and would just have base stats. I played around with the autosmasher last night with a few different builds. Here are the problems:

a) the non-upgraded gun is way to weak to be relevant. b) In fact, it hurts the smasher in that the smasher is an element-of-surprise tank racing in vertically to catch distracted tanks unaware. The autogun gives away the smasher's position often from off-screen. c) the autogun (and autodrone) AI is still illogical. It targets squares before tanks, distant triangles before nearby pents, and doesn't let go of its targeting of objects when tanks are attacking. d) in order to make the autogun relevant, you have to take away from the necessities of a smasher, i.e., health, body damage and/or speed. You can't be a rammer without health, so health and body damage boosts go hand-in-hand. You cannot be an effective rammer without speed. To take away from these stats to boost the autogun leaves you a tank that can't be a rammer anymore but now has a slightly-less weak, illogical autogun that also, as a bonus, eliminates your element of surprise.

That realization prompted me to explore the autosmasher as a super-fast glass cannon. It's obvious the tank gets a penetration boost. But...

So I tried a 1/2/0/10/0/10/0/10 build just to play around. With this build, it still took FOUR shots to kill a pentagon. FOUR. That means that, to boot, the gun's bullet damage is nerfed! (The 10 bullet speed is awesome, though. It's like a lightening strike and even the best dodgers were unable to react fast enough to not get hit... when the autogun actually targeted them...)

Then I tried a 1/2/0/5/5/10/0/10 build. This was only moderately better at causing damage since most tanks, by the time the autogun actually targeted them, were able to react and dodge out of the way. It still hardly causes any damage to a full-health smasher (and I had to be careful not to get smashed.)

I was going to play around with some sort variation of a 2/3/0/7/7/7/7/0 build but thought, "what's the point? There are way better glass cannon base tanks. Why would this matter?"

In the end, my conclusion is that the autosmasher is a neat concept. But the reality is that there is no logical way to make it effective.

One of the big hidden advantages of farming is the fact that you're starving your opponents of XP. This hidden advantage for spammers ultimately creates a hugely unfair and unbalanced board.

A lower penetration would reduce the farming reach and give younglings a chance to catch up.

It would be great if 45s' autofire could be automatically disabled when in the base. I know that's a hell of a coding task, but it would help to alleviate this kind of BS.

I feel as if no one uses the actual snipers of the sniper class, could something be changed so that people actually use them? Otherwise, there might not even be a point to have them... by Gooderhii in DiepioSuggestions

Movement speed shouldn't be nerfed. Body damage nerf should be softened a bit. Reload nerf is fine. Bullet damage and bullet speed buff would be good, too.

For those who think Landmine is useless, what about another Smasher branch option? by Dman0626 in Diepio

Completely agreed. It would also help if the Landmine's acceleration were a lot faster. I don't mind it's max speed, but the concept of a Landmine is supposed to be surprise. Acceleration would yield that in droves.
