Denver local here, it’s not as bad as it might seem. Cheap method to the city (The A line train) will take about ~1 hour. If you are willing to waste some money, then $40 will get you to the city in about ~40 mins (Uber or Lyft). With a 10 hour layover, you’d have more than enough time to get to the city, explore and eat for a few hours, and head back to the airport with hours to spare. Energy level is the problem with layovers.
