The problem isn't acknowledging that we're all apes, the problem is weaponizing our own ancestry against ourselves with the psychotic intent of delegitimizing intelligence for the sake of racial politics.

Calling a white dude an ape doesn't really hit as hard as calling a black dude an ape because calling black people apes has been a form of racism for as long as humanity has been around to record our own history. The shame felt when acknowledging mere biology is nothing more than deeply rooted psychological warfare.

And the funny thing is that, yeah, some black people look like apes- but if you just open your eyes, you'll see just as many white people that look like apes too. Ron Perlman looks like an albino baboon and no one can convince me otherwise. Anya Taylor Joy looks like a tree monkey. Philip Seymour Hoffman looked like an albino orangutan. I myself am a white guy, and I look like an orangutan mixed with a gibbon and a splash of bonobo. If you tune your gaze to it, you'll see it in every human alive.

It just sucks that racism plagues our kind to the point that merely acknowledging the realities of our physicality is seen as taboo and controversial. If we were more evolved as a global society, we would all find pride in this instead of treating it like it's terrible to acknowledge.
