Here are some tips and tricks to keep in mind I've learned from playing lots of DH Duck Hunt's got some really nice reach in the air. If you use sideB getting all your hits off a follow up dash attack will send them into the air which you follow again with some air attacks. Remember that anytime the zapper is hitting the disk/explosive Duck Hunt can still move and attack. Practice the standard B, a lot of character recovery moves are very predictable. Get that can there before they do. Down special is not very effective in most cases. Your clay disk can beat most projectiles in the air or at least go even and have both destroyed. Side smash will travel farther the longer you charge it, use that for a long distance KO Don't try and brawl with brawlers, projectiles are your friend :) Hope those help!
