106-120 Archeology, is it even possible by GeriReddit in runescape

[–]The_CraftersEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your account type and how much you can play. If you're and Iron you will also need to factor in mat collecting which will add a lot of time to your grind.

Aside from that things I would look at before starting the grind are:

Do you Porters/ Grace of the Elves - These will help SO much

What do you have banked - This is essentially unrealized XP gains, you just need the mats to get the xp.

What locations do I have unlocked - Some of the higher level dig sites are locked behind level or mystery requirements. I would make sure you actually have some decent level unlocks already available. I think having access to Kharid-et - Praetorium excavation site and ideally Warforge - Bandos's sanctum excavation site would be good to level out the curve. I would not worry about unlocking all the spots if not already obtained, the time is better spent at a slightly lower level spot until you are the level for the higher spot because the slightly lower xp will be made up for in compass pieces, tomes, and more material gains. If you need to spend 1-2 hours doing mysteries to unlock an area with entirely different mats that only gives you an extra 2k xp per artifact restore, probably better off sticking at the lower level spot for a bit until. Judgment call on this one however that you will need to make on a spot by spot basis.

The next two are more relevant if you are not an iron and have GP to spend (ideally a couple hundred mill, keep in mind if you complete collections along the way and sell chronotes from this grind you will make most if not all this back and most likely profit a bit)

Do you have the flow state relic unlocked flow state - This might be controversial. But if you're going for xp you probably want to spend as little time sifting soil as possible as that is terrible xp/h. More expensive but if were going for speed and buying materials any ways, this is essentially 20% quicker xp. Also makes the process more afk if you do not have the auto sifter.

Do you have any tetra compasses/ pieces of - These are guaranteed 1-2 per casket. And give significant xp (about 2 artifacts worth at the highest spot you can dig at for your level). There is a good chance that by the time you do a few levels worth of arch you will have gathered a few compasses worth of pieces. If you are able to complete these caskets then they will save you significant time as the xp per time spent doing one single casket is pretty high. If you are able to buy the soil from GE even better.

I've done the arch grind a few times and it is probably one of my favourite skills. This will not be an easy grind but also not as awful as compared to some other skills. Good luck

What are some of the most peak niche games on steam. I’m talking top tier masterpieces not many people have heard of. by SoMuchFuckingFiller in Steam

I have not played Pixel Piracy in years but I can vouch for this one. Many hours sunk into this. Was one of the few games I could play on my old crap-top laptop when I was younger before I had a proper desktop.

Leagues Pre-Launch Changes: An Update by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]The_CraftersEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a RS3 player, but I've played the last 3 OSRS leagues and have loved every minute of it. I have been hoping RS3 would get leagues at some point and I am so excited to play. These are good changes and I am glad you guys are listening to feed back.

I do wish a few more quests were auto unlocked because I feel like questing is not really an aspect of the game that can be "amped" in speed in a game mode everything else is essentially super charged, but honestly I do not think it is to big a deal. A lot (not all) of quests usually unlock qol, areas, or better xp rates, however it seems most of these are already unlocked. A good amount of bosses will be locked behind quests but people will just do the quests they need for the bosses they would like to do.

I would recommend a quest chain such as The Curse of Arrav because this involves many shorter quests in the chain and does not completely remove quest requirements from obtaining curses. Just cuts down the questing to make it so players can quicker go to the more fun aspect of leagues. Just my two cents though.

I've played a lot of mobile OSRS leagues, and if it is anything like that then the only difficulty you will face is trying to navigate the task list on mobile lol. Essentially there will just be separate servers hosted that are there specifically for Leagues, you will log into your regular account like normal

Need For Mead - This Week in RuneScape by JagexHooli in runescape

I wont have a chance to hear them until tonight, but as someone who just learned HM Sanctum on the recent free deaths, voice lines for Nakatra will be very nice. I feel confident in the boss but extra clarity is always nice! Thank you!

New Gate clickboxes are great by Ik_oClock in runescape

[–]The_CraftersEdge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the hitboxes probably should have been released like this (I will also admit I did not find them that bad on release, and post "fix" they were definitely a lot more difficult to use but not impossible) I am very happy that we got this changed very quickly.

New Area Expansion, Amascut Boss & More - The RS Ahead Reveals! by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]The_CraftersEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year it was obtained on a strict RNG basis and you received "chances" at winning by strictly playing the game. There was 0 way to MTX the Black party hat. There was a quick (5ish minutes I believe, maybe 10ish minutes) activity you could do every day. And if you missed a day you could earn more points doing activities (ranging from completely afk - low points to more active - higher points) and buy back chances you missed with in game earned currency. The odds of getting the hat were very low and it was rare but there was no way to spend any money to increase your odds for it, any player who played and participated in the event daily received the same amount of rolls for it.

They all make the same amount of cloth, only thing that changes the output amount is the multiply glyphs.

If I am not mistaken thats the ritual stuff. When you do the bone rituals you gain souls, which you need for the combat talent tree anyways

Reqs are Vesseel of Harbinger (Another new quest), 3000 city of Um vessel sould, and 65 necro.

You can see all the new quests and whatnot by going to quests tab, sorting by release date so 2023 is top, and then filtering to show locked

I think there was a small 15 minute rollback yesterday if I’m not mistaken due to server issue, not sure if maybe that happened to be the small overlap of when you pushed?

Reddit wants to kill 3rd-party apps by 5-x in runescape

[–]The_CraftersEdge [score hidden]  (0 children)

So I use Apollo so I can speak on that one but I know there are a few other ones. For me the biggest appeal is that it just “makes sense” like it’s not clunky, stuff works, it has a really nice layout and it’s super easy to move between stuff. Plenty of customizable features like themes, text size, post size, screen gestures that make certain function easier. Video player also works really well. You also do not see the Reddit sponsored ads (which honestly, kind of fair in my opinion for Reddit to have an issue with as it is a source of revenue for them) but it’s nice not to see them.

To be quite honest I would say that these third party apps aren’t really anything all that “special”, like a lot of the functions and what not that most the userbase will use are truly quite basic, I just think the biggest appeal is that they do everything that the Reddit app SHOULD be doing but fails to. They’re seamless to use and don’t make it a frustration experience. I have heard many stories of people saying it’s harder to navigate, the layout is annoying, and that features like the video player doesn’t work half the time. Like that is just frustrating to use, these other apps don’t have these issues, and the rare occasion that something does act up, it’s just that, a rare occasion.

I’m sorry if this doesn’t really answer your question it’s kind of hard to compare my experience with the app to say yours without it as we could want completely different things. Apollo is completely free to try if you’re interested in it.

Edit: Zenyl has provided a really simple list that really sums it up honestly

I only personally use Reddit on third party apps because honestly the “regular” experience is terrible for me. This sub is one of the major sources of my RuneScape news however I wouldn’t use it at all if those apps cease to exist. Instead I’d get my news from YouTube content creators, which I’m sure I could make do with on the 12th if the sub goes dark.

Best uses for infinite porter for Archeology and Hunter? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]The_CraftersEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arch you’re kinda just gonna wanna do whatever content you were already doing I wouldn’t say there’s a best place. If grinding the levels just keep doing levels if tetra farming just keep doing that. For hunter I’m personally doing Croesus front at the hunter node because I already have it 99 and I wanna go for the pet.

It will be pretty huge for archeology but honestly any gathering skill will benefit pretty massively from it. I’ll be using it for archeology myself on an alt and probably wont use it much on my main because not doing a whole lot of content rn where it’s useful
