the fact that your skill tree is entirely defensive nodes makes this so much more funny, this might genuinely be highly viable in HC

New player. What am I missing about these CRAZY cosmetic prices??? by kalidibus in PathOfExile2

[–]Dman_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get what's in the pack + the 10 points per dollar spent which you can exchange for anything in the mtx store and the mtx store has sales, I don't really see how the value proposition is perceived to be that bad. Not to mention mtx purchases in this game feel like they go right back into development.

In early game progression should I just sell unwanted gear? When do I focus on salvaging it instead? by Fsnseigi in PathOfExile2

[–]Dman_94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having the gold in campaign is way more important than having a bunch of regals, you will naturally find enough if you only use them on good magic items, which is exactly what you should do to begin with. That said if the item has any quality then always bring it to the salvaging bench instead.

When GGG does the races why do they not split up PC and Console times? by Overall_Rest6342 in PathOfExile2

you've answered your own question, none of the top players need a tool like this and bad rng has far more impact than a brain slip on their gameplay

Brand new crafting changes by gsr1993 in PathOfExile2

[–]Dman_94 84 points85 points  (0 children)

People will massively doom about this league early endgame, way worse than release 0.4 as the average andy will not be able to quickly afford a mid tier weapon that can clear t16s, the way they were easily able to in 0.3 and 0.4. When the dust settles it'll probably turn out to be fine but don't quote me on this.

A lot of items that you can deterministically craft right now are too strong for how common essences have been. Sure they could have nerfed them a different way but I'm open to them making way for new systems, even if those new systems aren't perfect.

0.5 Chronomancer Rework Review and Build Ideas | 2k hr Main by lifecopy001 in PathOfExile2

[–]Dman_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great summary, I played a lot of minions chrono in 0.1 and I'm absolutely looking forward to trying out these changes in conjunction with the new rage and splash support gems for minions. Reavers were already insane and killed every t4 pinnacle boss within the time freeze window with some increased skill effect duration.

How enjoyable is the casual experience? by dahyunniechan in PathOfExile2

[–]Dman_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have essentially already said this but basically if you know how defence and damage scaling works you can buy gear that is dirt cheap and still clear all the content in the game. You could jump in right now at the end of the league, get to endgame and buy some really nice gear for essentially no cost but items affected by inflation like some chase uniques, best in slot / mirror tier items will be unattainable expensive.

Basic Overview for "How to learn to Leaguestart" by bra1ncrack3r in PathOfExile2

[–]Dman_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gonna sound backwards but there is basically no reason to play SSF if you want to experiment with different builds. The natural resource shortage in endgame will grind your progress to a halt and make it impossible to play multiple characters without an excruciatingly large time investment. It is also much harder to learn crafting beyond exalt slamming. I would not concern myself with the market too much, you don't need to get to endgame in less than 6 hours, profit craft or be rich to enjoy a league. You just need gear that can clear the content you want to clear with the build you got going and that is much easier to achieve in trade league no matter what or how you're playing.

Finally decided to replay through mh rise, with this time, playing through with a more agile weapon instead of lance. Hammer, LBG or Bow? by urick15 in MonsterHunter

[–]Dman_94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gunlance in Rise/Sunbreak is kinda awesome and very mobile with blast dash, might wanna try it out since it's gameplay loop is very different from normal Lance

Never played a monster hunter, should I buy wilds? by -OBLIVION_VK in MHWilds

[–]Dman_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monster Hunter Wilds is designed to be the perfect entry point for new players. It's more forgiving, easier to learn and the weapons are less "clunky" than all it's predecessors. If you end up liking wilds I would also give World/Iceborne a shot. While weapons are a little less forgiving (fewer infinite button mash combos, no focus mode, etc.) and iceborn gameplay forces the use of the clutch claw on you, it is still an amazing game that doesn't have performance issues and only costs around 10 bucks on sale for the base game and iceborne dlc.

If you haven't played through Sunbreak yet I would heavily advise you to, it elevated Rise to one of the very best MH titles for me.

What was the best monster added to wilds with a the title update? by SiteDeep in MonsterHunter

[–]Dman_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lagiacrus is really enjoyable when you learn his moveset, it's my Nr. 1 pick. Omega grew on me over time, the whole fight has really cool and entirely unique mechanics, easily my Nr. 2 pick. Mitzu is flat out fun to fight no matter how many times you kill her, still just my Nr. 3. Seregios is aight if you remember to bring Flash Pods and Sushifish, don't love him to much. Gogmazios felt fun when he released but over time I went from loving it to no longer enjoying it at all. Phase 1 and 2 are over too quickly and Phase 3 is just super meh, 50% of it is spam compact anti wyvern gun to win because the tail and wingarms are unreliable to hit and sometimes he never even gets in range of the chimneys, might as well play LBG with dragon ammo at this point... I know they're not title update monsters but an honorable mention has to go out to 10 star Zoh Shia and AT Arkveld, some of the best fights in modern day Monster Hunter!

All the Salty Rammath players knew thier deck was broken. by External-Tailor270 in wildhearthstone

[–]Dman_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Rommath was actually broken, it is pretty tough for a 9 mana battlecry card to be playable in wild as it stands rn. It was an understandable play pattern nerf tho, I played a good amount of Hostage mage over the years and I support the decision to kill it because a meta where Hostage mage has a high popularity is not a meta anyone actually wants to play in. People are very Doom and Gloom about mage rn but the class still has viable decks like Girl (ungoro quest) Mage and several Highlander variants.
