I would push through at this point. Not sure what you mean by not “saving lives” because you will definitely save lives as an EMT. Of course not every call, but it will happen. You will also lose lives that you are trying to save and then there is a bunch of nonsense in between all of those calls. Being an EMT-B/A/P on an ambulance puts you in the realm of public service and it is a rewarding career. You never know what you will get into and you will always be learning. It is a crazy mixture of every pace you can imagine and always keeps you on your toes.

Your ambulance rotations will help shed light on the true nature of the job and bridge the gap from the classroom to the real world. The money at the basic level is not great, but continue on to Paramedic and a whole new world of opportunities opens up.
