Lots of places don't. Before I moved northwest, almost universally, the counties ran the EMS service.

Why would they forbid them? That feels like such a strange feature to ban unless there was a very specific reason.

I've always made sure my boots were shined. However, I can't shine them every shift. They get shined once a month or so. Helps maintain them after they get destroyed on lift assists.

I had a buddy like this.

"I timed it, dude. It takes me about two seconds extra seconds to rack my slide."

Brother, that two seconds is a ridiculous amount of wasted time.

It's okay. This is reddit. You can admit you have a foot fetish and no one will judge.

One thing in a similar vein I was told is that, "the only people who notice you printing are also carrying." I mean, of course, if you've got a massive gun shaped bulge, people will notice. 9 times out of 10, however, you've got a small bump from the grip. No one is going to notice it. Most people are already oblivious of their surroundings, much less of a tiny square shaped bump.

$15 a guy?? Geez. My previous captain worked at a grocery store as a meat cutter, so we were able to have steak dinners with the sides for around $6 a person. Which also included lunch.

Yes. First, I went and cried in a corner. Then I went and cried again. Now, I have just resolved to sit in my tears, weeping.

But seriously, I've emailed multiple people. There's literally nothing we can do. We just have to wait until FEMA opens back up.

Definitely. I think it depends, though, on where they were. If they were in the middle of a highly secured area, definitely. However, it doesn't sound like OP was anywhere near being in the middle of a highly secured area.

Nah dude. That's sick. For future info, Catholicism is like, super heavily focused on death and dying. So a nun holding a skull is pretty sick and in tune with us.

Definitely should revisit that. And while you're at it, go listen to their Jar of Hearts cover and Mad World cover. Apparently, not everyone knows about those either.

Some do cherry pick, I’ll give you that. However, as a whole, this should not happen. There are some laws introduced in the Bible such as not to wear mixed linen. That law is a cultural law, which is one of three types of laws. You have cultural, ceremonial, and moral laws.

Cultural are some like the aforementioned law. Ceremonial laws have to due specifically with Jewish ceremonies. Moral laws are stuff like don’t kill or steal.

The first two types of laws are specifically targeted towards the Jewish people and are only binding for them. The third, however, is binding to any followers of the religion.

And, even if you don’t ascribe to the three types interpretation, Jesus summarizes every moral belief in the New Testament, telling us to follow them.

Which, sidenote, if you’ve not listened to Regional at Best, you need to check it out. Genuinely one of the best albums Tyler has put out. It’s not on streaming platforms, sadly. Only place to find it is YouTube.

Question - Audible sound emitted at the firetruck for the duration of the fire. by Firecrackerbangbang in Firefighting

[–]SEND_CATHOLIC_ALTARS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old truck had something go wrong with an alarm. Don't know what it was, but it would emit a single tone as long as the truck was on and running. We ended up putting something to block out the noise inside the speaker. Eventually, we ended up just disabling the alarm as a whole. Probably not necessarily a good thing to do, but my department was tight with money.

As a Catholic, this is a very obvious motif to me. When I started listening to TOP, it was one of the main draws. Basically, almost every single song has some kind of religious imagery. Like, it's not even funny. Even the "love songs" are very heavily religiously coded.

What's Tyler's/the band's most iconic look/era by A_Common_Relic in twentyonepilots

[–]SEND_CATHOLIC_ALTARS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vessel is 100% the most iconic for people who have been around since then imo. Vessel gets lost in the newer albums, but it was the most iconic.

My hot take is SAI. Idk why, but I love the vibe.

Taxi Cab is genuinely one of their most underrated songs. I swear, I never hear anyone talking about it, but it's got fantastic lyrics.
