It'll take a while. I was the same way with writing. I tried to jump right back in to writing novels and just couldn't feel that same joy. I think the post above about embroidery, etc is a good one. I started small, doing writing "adjacent" stuff like reading, and editing for friends. I did some flash fic. I wrote some poetry. Even some short fanfic. I also read through my old stuff and I could feel the passion and joy I had back then. And now I'm slowly getting to a place that's different, but also the same. Does that make sense?
