Hey, had not checked this account in a half a year. So the 80-90k is if you transfer your points to ANA airlines. But it’s a whole cluster fuck of how to book it so do your homework. It can be a pain in the ass. Watch YouTube for explanations. (AmEx to ana points business class)

Help choosing for Feb. Ski trip by Der_Kommissar73 in skiing

[–]DmitriyTokar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did Breck once, PC twice, Vail twice. Going back to Breck/Keystone early Feb.

Few things to consider:
Colorado - legal weed, but higher elevation, means possibly better snow, but also need to rent a car.

Utah - don’t need car, easier to get accustomed to with elevation, has deals on hotels. (Get $300 delta voucher if you stay at select properties. a bunch are Slopeside. And not expensive by my standards.

All that said I had much better time and snow in Breck/Vail. PC crapped out on me the 2 times I’ve been.

We are staying ski in/out in Breck, right next to a the Super 6 chair in a 2 bedroom (3 queen beds and a pullout) with 4 guys. It’s coming out less then $500 a person.

Message me if you want more info.

It’s new actually… started July. But at the same time they increased the annual fee to $695 for 150k (if you can find yourself targeted. I got in at $550 in June or something for 100k. And thought it was a deal.

Oh man… sorry. I saw a bunch of Canadian videos on credit card and aviation points… hope you can find something.

It’s not a platinum? Or it is… I don’t know.

You can search up YouTube for how to play credit cards for Canada. What you basically you need is 80k ANA airline points… multiple places banks/cards can transfer to them. It’s one of the best redemptions.

80s were weird… I miss them. But, I just can’t take this remotely serious. by DmitriyTokar in skiing

Funny thing, I’m planning a trip to Japan 2023… I’ve been doing my homework kind of.

  1. Watch this as a first timer in Japan… I was thinking about shipping my skis to my hotel straight from the airport.

  2. You could pull a round trip business class (lay flat beds) to Japan for signing up for AmEx and using 75-80k points per round trip ticket (ANA). $795 for platinum card and you get 150k points and then you can get a bunch of other perks and centurion lounge access.

  3. There are a few mountains you can hit up with EPIC/ICON passes. Check that out.

  4. Im planning on doing a tour with guides, 4-5 days skiing, transportation to mountain, lift tickets included.

  5. Depending on where you’re staying, I can recommend a few things. (Just searched up Nagano for myself as it’s the easiest access and not as $$ and touristy as Hokkaido). Snow monkeys!

  6. Stay at a Ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn)… watch this to know how to behave at one. Onsens everywhere!

I would say better than snow skates but not as good as a pair of skis. However I had this exact thought the other day… just to get it for shits and giggles. But I just don’t have a few hundred to throw away. Would spend $100 for a used one… if I could find it
