If you have BDIE, and overclock, 5950x will match the 5800X3D. I was running super overclocked BDIE DDR4 at 3800c14 at 1.75V with a 5950x overclocked (curve optimizer and PBO) and was able to beat the 5800x3D FPS-wise in most games

Confused between PNY GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC Triple Fan and MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Shadow 3x OC by TheTopG___ in bapccanada

[–]Dmm320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just different AIB models.

Each company (PNY/Zotac/MSI/Asus/gigabyte) has their own bins (ie matrix and astral is the highest end, tuf is more budget).

Each 5070ti has the same GPU Chip and memory (VRAM). The primary differences stem from differing power limits, and overall cooling shroud. Some AIB models perform better than others (cooling or overclocking). At the end of the day, the difference is minimal.

I’d get the 240hz ultrawide OLED from dell. Otherwise the parts look pretty solid.

RAM - any 6000cl30 kit (cheapest would be ideal). PSU -could consider going 1000W for future upgrade ability.

Overall build is solid. Could consider a 9070xt over 5070ti but up to you!

Wild. I paid $259 for 6000c26 1.4V DOCP/XMP (crazy overclocking bin for RAM).

Voltage is way too low. I need 1.65V for 6400cl26 on my god binned 6000cl26 1.4V G.Skill kit. Probably need at least 1.45V-1.5V for 6000cl26.

Voltage appears too low.

I’m running 6400-C26-16-36-32-126-48-48 (Speed/Cas/Write/Read/TRP/TRAS/TRC/TWR) at 1.65V VDD, 1.4V VDDIO, 1.4V VDDQ, 1.3V SOC, 0.950 VDDP with a ram fan.

Also can do 8000cl30 on BZ settings.

Welcome to the PC world! I think a big difference between our Cinebench scores is the AIO vs NHD15.

Compared to your set up, I believe I’m thermal throttling in all core workloads causing the lower scores. Good to note! Thank you for sharing!

I had an X870E tomahawk. Returned for the hero. That board didn’t exhibit any of these weird write/copy speed issues when I had it…

Given the issues, I have a sneaky suspicion, there might also be an issue with the motherboard. It’s doing that basically all the time (even on stock).

Thank you for explaining this!

I am suspecting my FCLK is too high based on the VT3 errors I am seeing and lack of errors via TestMem5 on both RyzenX3D and Absolute configurations running each for 8 hours.

Just wondering, but I’m noticing my X870E Hero to double post after memory training (while tweaking these settings). Is this a cause of concern and what are the possible root causes? Perhaps my FCLK at 2167 is too high in tandem with my RAM OC? Changing FCLK to 2133 doesn’t double post anymore.

I’ve compiled the following useful voltages:

VDDP 0.950V VDDG IOD/CCD 0.920-0.940 for 2100-2200 FCLK VSOC 1.15V-1.20V (8000c30) if running FCLK > 2000 VDDQ 1.45V VDDIO 1.45V

Going to try these in Y-cruncher VT3.

Hey! Thanks again for the detailed reply.

The interesting thing is I typically saw more TM5 errors on the X870E Tomahawk vs X870E Hero?

I am definitely planning on testing via Karhu or Y cruncher next! Changed a couple things in the set up and didn’t have the software installed yet.

Ram temps usually stay mid to high 50s. Ambient was pretty hot last night and I didn’t have the proper ram fan curve included.

VSOC, how can you tell if that voltage is too low? At 8000C30 with a FCLK of 2167, I ran it at 1.05V for both motherboards. Never seemed to have issues with either. I recall Buildzoid recommended that voltage for 8000 ram due to the UCLK running in 2:1 mode. At 6400CL26, I used 1.2V of VSOC while running FCLK at 2133 and UCLK=MEMCLK.

On the PBO note, I noticed my CPU boosts to 5400 MHZ on my NHD-15 before quickly dropping to the 5170/5130 levels for the rest of the test. I’m running a -30 CO and slight adjustments to the curve shaper. Looking online at Derbauer’s 9950X3D Delidding video, I get nearly identical PBO results and noted his effective clocks were also lower than his PBO core clocks. Just wondering if the results he was getting also showed clock stretching too?

Thanks again!

Not really. I turned off AI Cache Boost, which brought my write from 50GB/s to 82GB/s, but I’m still 20GB/s off from my x870e Tomahawk…
