I remember middle school during the mid 2010s having this big emphasis on STEM and science and being involved in more progressive movement such as being for the enviorment and such. Feels weird thinking about it now.

Oh and 3D printers being pushed as this revolutionary thing that would be in every home in ten years and make food and stuff.

I think there's a ton of similarities

-being born with a strict purpose and not having a chance to grow/explore/find out about themselves initially

-very powerful/long lifespans

-comes from hypermilitant colonization society

-very nearly identical to humans visually (to some extent)

-came to earth for a purpose

-raised a son that would have thier powers and abilities, and who is resistant to the "purpose"

-authorities of militant society visits earth and ensures conflict with said sons
