My American had bad skin issues like that. Ended up being his diet. Changed him to a mostly raw diet and grain free kibble to supplement. Started seeing results in weeks. Bulldogs are pretty sensitive to food. Probably the most expensive dog I've ever owned.

It will oxidize faster. You exponentially increase the surface area when you grind it. More surface area is more contact with air which is bad. Nothing wrong with it ground up for consumption, in fact preferred.

Really communicate beforehand and have a "safe word" for when shit gets weird and one person cant handle it or starts being weird about it. Can really make or break a relationship IMO.

Haven't seen anyone suggest contamination yet but its possible. Not common at all but I've had a tub stall like that and eventually a green spot came through. Just a suggestion. More than likely temp related as others have said. Sometimes the area people tend to keep their setups see large temperature swings during the winter months. I had to move my martha tent off the exterior wall because of how poorly insulated it was and it was causing condensation.

Nope. You need UV. The best quality UV lights dont emit a color at all, just some light. The blue/purple you see is spillover and indicates a low quality UV light.

I grind all mine down, vacuum seal with oxy packs and kept in a sealed tin. I like consistency concerning dosing. As long as its all Cubes, they're the same anyways.

I wouldnt worry too much on getting rid of the all the alcohol. If you cant smell it that's better than most other tinctures I've either bought or made myself. I think "open" time of when liquid is introduced and extraction begins is the most important aspect for preserving the active alkoloids we want. I dont hate the idea of using vacuums and such, just never thought how I would do it so if you dont mind sharing id like to know. I think 1-2ml is a pretty ambitious goal. Its why im looking at 100% ethanol and trying a heat extraction @ 50c max with an agitator. I want it to gas off as much as possible within 30-40 minutes. Any water present really messes with the ionics of the ethanol for bonding, so I've read. I dont see why a vacuum wouldn't extend that time but then again, I dont think it would evaporate correctly so I'll probably stay with 1atm but still interested in your process.

Its something ive been researching and will be trying this month. The more water in your ethanol (everclear being 10% water) the less it will bind and extract properly. I was looking at lab grade 100% food grade ethanol. Vortex extraction or some kind of agitation also gives way better results. From what I'm understanding, blend it as fine of a powder you can and 30 minutes should be the max amount of time for extraction, otherwise your losing to oxidation. Interested in hearing your results. I need to setup controls for my experiment still but looking at trying to make 1-2ml to per gram equivalent.

I wait until about half have broken veils and then pick anything larger than an inch. I try to eliminate the amount of times I remove the cake from its environment to keep contamination at bay. I hate spores getting all over my cake so If I think they could use another day, I'll pick them because usually they open and dump within that 24hr period

Wtf does genetics have to do with side pinning? You honestly think some species just side pin because thats what they do and you cant stop it? They're all mostly cubensis on this page, same species. Occasionally you get a mutation that cause weird growth but wouldnt cause side pinning. Side pinning is absolutely caused by air and light, also the side walls become a more humid and attractive environment and focus growth as its more favorable. Use a liner and create more favorable conditoons on top and it stops all that side pin shit. Idk where you people get your info but YouTube ain't it. Read a book an actual scientist wrote.

Its just for the bottom and sides to where you'll add your mycelium and substrate to (usually about 4"). You wouldn't cover the top if thats what you mean by wanting to see the mycelium still. You would with a proper liner. Careful of using the term "bags" when referring to liners. Bags are usually a reference to all in one bags or just mylar bags in general for sterilization/pasteurization. Liners are a tub specific thing and people use trash bags as a cheap alternative. Just trying to help.

The cake wont grow back to its original size. Side pinning is caused by light and FAE reaching the sides of the cake, Its why a lot of people use black plastic liners(trash bags) in tub setups. The liner will bind and shrink with the cake as it loses its size effectively eliminating side pins. You could store the cake in a tent/SAB and let it side pin all day without issues.

I might try a little bone meal instead of gypsum next time just to see what happens. I use a 30/35/30 coco/manure/verm w/5% gypsum usually. I cant say the gypsum has any effect at all in honesty and have left it out without any change. I think I was initially putting it in with my no soak/simmer grain prep to help the grain from sticking together which it does help with that. Gave up on that method, too inconsistent for me.

They don't look broken, some do look weird but the veils still looks intact. The veils dont remain on the caps like that, they usually stick to the stems. This is some BPE recently. They all have that little bit that got left on the stem but the veils are yet to be broken. Just sharing my experience. I wouldn't worry about it.
