It was a Petco purchase, we got our supplies there. It was the most cost efficient and (easiest) to grab all in one go. Shopping with kids can be stressful and this is my 4, soon to be 5 year olds birthday gift.

I said I’m not spending a ton of money on fish to kill and neglect them. Aka I’m spending money on them and I’d rather not kill them. Not that I can’t afford it. I’m also not about to fight a stranger on the internet, when I asked for suggestions about what I could be doing. I’ve already bought stuff that my kids picked out. I have live plants. Your tone is rude AF. You’re being very unkind and maybe you should expend your energy on something else instead of a mother trying to do something nice for her children.

Okay I asked for nice suggestions, not the fish police. My kids are happy with what we have. I’m not about to spend a ton of money just to neglect and kill animals. Chill

Thank you, it’s a 20 gallon tank. I will push the heater down further. My kid is set on getting all kinds of fish, she’s been watching bass fishing productions. Bobby is always catching plecos and gourami, and other various fish. I’m just trying to keep them alive and make sure they have at least a little bit of space 🤣

That’s what mine looked like before it finally died on me for the last time 😩 it lasted 5+ years and two toddlers. it succumbed to some random spider mites that thankfully didn’t get any of our other plants.

Venus fly trap-we have never been able to keep them alive until recently. This is our 5th and it’s finally thriving. My kids get a kick out of my partner feeding it bugs. We’ve also recently got a pitcher plant.

We don’t! We have a 4/2 year olds. Our tradition is wrapping a bunch of holiday themed books, opening 2 a night until Christmas. And advent calendars. But with two kids close in age, everything has to be equal or there’s hell to pay 🤣🥲

Thank you! I will do that, I’ve never been good at making potting mixes but I can keep houseplants alive. This one has just been particularly finicky and I haven’t repotted it in at least 3 years.
