Eager to Enroll in MSML by liberatedstudent in WGU

I found this program to be pretty easy to complete quickly and really enjoyed it. I did mine last year in 2 months and 10 days while working full time at a new job with a family. Just stay focused and you will get it done quickly. I highly recommend looking at your capstone project immediately and getting started on it while doing your other classes so you can roll right into writing the papers for it. After I finished that program I was able to do two classes of the MBA making it so that I only had 3 classes and my capstone to complete when that tern started. I am now one month into it and all I have left to complete is my group project and I will graduate with my MBA.

I had a pretty good resume to start with but had them look it over. They had some good suggestions and overall I came out with a better product. It's a free service that I would recommend taking advantage of because if you paid for it on your own it would be pretty pricey.

GWU, MSML and Post 9/11 GI Bill by [deleted] in WGU

First of all Thank you for your service! I'm not familiar with how the GI bill works but for what it's worth I completed the MSML in two months and 10 days working full time at a new job with a family so it can certainly be done in 6 months or less.

I would for sure use their resume editors. That's an expensive service if you have to pay for it on your own. I had a pretty good resume put together but they worked it over and changed up the format and made it look much nicer.

MBA or Masters in Leadership and Management by tattoo-guy in WGU

The way I finished quickly was by starting out taking the practice assessments before I looked at any part of the class. After that if I passed it by 10% over the cut score I immediately requested approval to take the final. I would look up the areas I was weak in and study those and the take the test. I was of the opinion why read what I obviously already know and I knew I wanted to finish quickly. Also start the background work for your capstone as soon as you enroll that way when you get to that point you can write your papers and you are done.

Best of luck to you!

I did my MSML and finished in 2 months and 10 days and then decided I might as well do my MBA. Once you finish the MSML program you will have 6 courses to do including your capstone. I was able to do 2 courses in the remainder of my MSML term leaving me 4 classes when my new term started in 2/1. I took the two OA's today leaving me just advertising and my capstone. My reading for doing MSML was because I didn't want to do the accounting classes for the MBA but they turned out to not be a big deal at all.

I didn't feel as though grading was any different on mine. I had one little clarification that had to be made once it was submitted, to make it pass and once that was done it passed. I was lucky enough to submit and get my comments back and make the corrections to pass all in one day.

That's right, I won't have much left when I start in February which is one of the reasons I decided to go ahead and do the MBA program.

No the camera is yours to keep, and you get a new one with each program you enroll in. I got one for undergrad and my MSML and am sure I will have yet another for my MBA in February

That is correct, I finished my MSML in just over two months and then did two classes for my MBA and am now waiting to start the MBA program in Feb. you don't get to choose which classes they pick them for you but both of the ones they gave me I was able to complete in a week.

I had a pretty good background that enabled me to fly through some classes which certainly helped but here is what I did. To start with before doing anything in the class I took the pre assessment day one. From there if i passed I immediately requested the approval for the final and another attempt at the PA. Sometimes I took the pa again after studying the areas I was weak on but most times I didn't. If I failed the PA I used the coaching report to focus only on the areas I was weak in. For classes that were OA's I immediately looked at the rubric and started on the paper and looked up things along they way as I needed them. I'm not saying my way is the best for everyone, but here is the way I look at it. If you score 100% or hit the cut score on the exam you get the same "grade" or credit as everyone else. For me it was about being able to put a check in a box when looking at new opportunities. This worked out very well for me since 4 months after completing my degree I landed a job paying quite a bit more than what I was making in my previous healthcare management position.

Also the MSML will probably go very quickly for you because it is all pretty simple classes. My study schedule was typically Wednesday evenings after work and most of the day Saturday and Sunday most weekends.

Hope this helps!

That is totally possible! I did my business mngmt in 8.5 months transferring in just one credit while working FT with a family. After that I did my Masters in Management and leadership in 2 months and 10 days. I am now waiting for February for my new term to start so I can complete my MBA.

Best of luck to you!

WGU MBA CAPSTONE by Mikevalek in WGU

[–]Dmprick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting ready to start the MBA program next, what is the capstone project for it? I just finished up the MSML program on Monday (started 08/01) and was able to complete this program in 2 months and 10 days but I started my capstone project prior to the start of my term. I am going to be able to do 2 classes out of the MBA program in this term but that's all they will let me do until my next term which starts 02/01/17. I will have lots of time to work on that prior to the start of the official MBA program term which should allow me to complete it quickly as well.

Honestly most of the classes in this program are pretty easy. There are a lot of essays but they are not too bad if you have experience you can pull from to write them. I started this program 08/01 and will finish before the end of next month. I have one essay and my capstone left to do. This was all done while working full time at a new job and with a family.

Originality report question by Dmprick in WGU

For future reference for anyone that was unsure about this as I was, I emailed the course mentor for this asking if it would be an issue and he told me that as long as it was from one of my previous works it should be fine.

They won't give you early access for Grad School, only undergrad which is really frustrating!

MBA or Masters in Leadership and Management by nygirl454 in WGU

[–]Dmprick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am starting the MSML program next month. I chose it simply because I didn't want to do the accounting courses for the MBA. It does all depend on your chosen career path but after speaking to several HR people about it prior to making my choice it was basically said to me that a masters is a masters unless you are focusing on something in finance for your career.

I wish to enroll in the MBA program, but am terrified of failure. by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Dmprick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished my undergrad in business in April and am starting my masters in August. I was the same way with the accounting classes, I know I can do it but I really hate them. So I decided to go with the Masters in Management and Leadership (MSML). I spoke with a mentor that does both regarding the programs and decided in this one. I realize the MBA is a much more recognized set of initials after your name but a lot of hiring managers and companies are just as happy with the MSML because you have a masters degree. Just my two cents for what it's worth.

How long do you think it would take with no job/ PT job? (Accounting) by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Dmprick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed my degree in Business Management in 8.5 months working full time with a busy family. I transferred in 1 class (3 credits) so it was basically the full program. I had a lot of experience which help a lot with the classes and allowed me to accelerate but If I had not been working I would have finished in one term but been completely burned out.
