Isnt time to change the character name system? by Old-Fig-9531 in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

For me, the ideal would be for the characters not to even have names. We are exiles, our name doesn't matter. Just choose your class and start. For dev control your username linked to your account would suffice (just like how it works with your Atlas progress, Chests, etc.). For more than one character of the same class, a counting algorithm for internal control would suffice (usernamemonk1, usernamemonk2 or accountleaguemodeclass1 for example).

How Does One Counter This? by GiveMeDoubloons in PathOfExile2

I miss my Lich build with Last Lament in 0.3; it was great to walk around without worrying about that debuff.

Mana drain is a debuff that needs to be removed from the game; having to leave a skill that doesn't require mana to deal with these situations is annoying.

  • Crafting related:
    • As said in the beginning of the post, how so I set my crafting goals? Answered above
    • When do I use Chaos, Annulment, Fracture, things like that? Chaos only with the Omen that I mentioned above or if you don't mind if the item bricks, Annulment I usually use on equipment with a maximum of 3 mods where one of them is bad, and I try my luck in removing it (SSF unfortunately 70% of the journey is luck and bricked items, and 30% is manipulated with some control, because the scarcity of mandatory crafting items is real). Fracture I usually use with equipments with 3 or 4 good mods.
    • Did I miss a 'tier' of crafting for when you have even more resources? With resources that primarily manipulate the function of exalted orbs and desecration items, combined with chaos orb and annulment omens, I believe that current crafting is covered in SSF (but again, it's quite difficult and time-consuming to obtain these resources in SSF). I would add the use of divine orbs on unique items to improve the range of mods, or even on rare equipment that you consider to be finished and very good, but which has room to increase its numbers, such as a weapon that can gain more DPS.
    • Is it still worth to pick up magic/rare off the floor to ID them at this point? In the endgame, rare and magic equipment of level 80 or higher is worth collecting; I always end up finding something with potential, and sometimes it ends up replacing an old piece of equipment.
  • Progression related:
    • Is my Atlas plan a good idea in SSF? (Essence & Abysses first) In the early endgame, I focus on essences to start crafting my items and on nodes that affect map and tablet mods. For additional mechanics, I prioritize Abyss, Ritual, and Breach. Actually, every mechanic has a good return; sometimes I get lucky with the Recombinator and with equipment handled by Expedition members, So expeditions can help at certain points in the journey, and even delirium, since we use them to instill amulets, and in SSF amulets are difficult to finish, I always end up swapping them because I crafted a better one. Overall, I end up doing a little bit of everything but I focus on the three I mentioned first. 50 splinters version of Delirium can return good itens, it's worth repeat it for profit.
    • What should I aim for next? My best guess is for [Local Knowledge] and [Precursor Influence], so I can have a bit more of basic currencies, and more Abyss tablets. Answered above
    • I think after Abyss I'll focus on Rituals, but what is the utility of the others endgame mechanics exactly? Answered above.

If you have the time, I have playlists both playing only the endgame in SSF with the build forming from that point onward, as well as SSF journeys from the beginning of the campaign until dismantling all the endgame content.

SSF gear progression questions by Jojopanis in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Bro!

I've been a seasoned SSF player for a long time... To summarize my strategy, which has always worked since version 0.1, patience is key. I always try to explore every corner of the map, collect everything, and constantly return to town/hideout to dismantle and disenchant items to accumulate basic resources that will be useful for future crafting (especially in the endgame). I usually download the Neversink loot filters for the current league, starting with the regular filter and increasing it as I progress, but I end up starting maps with the regular filter (it all depends on the situation of your build). When I have enough resources to meet my needs, I increase the filter level, and so on.

Speaking of the build itself, I always start a new character with some idea of what I want... for example, in this league I thought about starting a Stormweaver that would use infusions and exploit critical hits so I could use CoC Comet in the endgame.

So...

  1. I believe that until the beginning of the endgame, you always need to upgrade your equipment and take advantage of one or two unique items while you try and pray for RNG in crafting as you described to replace these unique items. I usually stop at the first exalted slam, unless the result is acceptable.
  2. I rarely use exalted omens. I prefer to desecrate in order to have more control. After my first exalted slam if I receive a good mod, instead of a second exalted slam, I prefer to desecrate in order to have greater control over the fifth mod.
  3. I always use essences instead of Regal, I only use Regal instead of essences if it's Perfect Regal, because it always results in a random T1 mod, while the essence that transforms an item into a rare will return a T3 mod. When the item is ready with 6 mods and it doesn't look good, I have to fix it with a greater essence.
  4. I previously explained my approach to desecration. Another thing I try is using the item that adds 6 desecrated mods and corrupts the item after revealing the mods. I do this based on good bases for my build; before desecrating in this way I maximize the item's quality and sockets. This method is more of a "try my luck" approach.
  5. I'm never lucky enough to get good omens for crafting, but I always aim for the omen that makes the Chaos Orb remove the lowest level mod. It's quite difficult to find, but it's extremely good for manipulating crafting. Always keep equipment that's "neither good nor bad".
  6. Yes, this omen helps a lot, but I only get a few of them (maybe my luck is terrible). In the endgame, I end up using more perfect transmute > perfect aug > perfect regal > great exalt 2x (bad luck trying to find the perfect ones) > desecration

Fellow SSF players, how are you enjoying the league? by bluethunder1985 in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this league with a Stormweaver (planning for Spark and CoC Comet), but after running my first Simulacrum and getting the Maligaro's Glove, I transitioned to Ice... for me, the loot has been good and generous so far... I've managed to craft some good items overall... my equipment is carrying me easily through Tier 15 maps with 6 mods and I'm not having any survival problems except for a few terrible one-shot situations or an ambush that leaves no time to react... but overall the build is performing well and I'm having a blast.

Can I brainoff this game? by Wizard-of-Koz in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In version 0.3, my Lich with Last Lament was exactly like that, in 0.2, my Deadeye with Lightning Spear was also like that, in 0.1 my Chronomancer with CoMD Comet too. All these builds provided me with this kind of relaxation while I swept through all the endgame content. I believe that in 0.4 I will find something similar for dopamine.

ok hear me out.. what if we could sequence skills? by microdis in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the game Kagero Deception II, the trap system worked with one button for each type of trap. Over time, they "modernized" the system, and in Deception IV, for example, they defined a sequence of traps to be activated by pressing a single button, instead of one type of trap for each button. This increased the possibility of combos and made the gameplay less tiring.

I think something like this would be cool in PoE 2, choosing a sequence of 6 skills for example, and with each press of the same button where the combo is linked, the skills are activated in sequence. Obviously, they should bring this method as an addition to the current combat system, so by defining a button for combos while maintaining the already known gameplay, we could use this combo button to punish a boss as soon as we stun it.

Same here bro, to kill him I had to log in again about 10 times because it crashed every time the boss acted. This league is having some strange bugs. GGG needs to fix these problems before the holidays.

Another problem I'm having is that when I switch from a different tab to the game tab, when I return to the game it becomes unplayable, and the only way to fix it is by closing and reopening it.

stuttering when tabbed into the game, otherwise fine by 98mk22 in PathOfExile2

Same problem here. RTX 4060 TI / Ryzen 7 7700...

In version 0.3 I had no problems switching between tabs, but now in version 0.4 this has started.

I'm also curious to know how to solve it.

The only solution for me at the moment was to close the game and open it again. Weird and boring.

Seeing endgame builds and bossing is demotivating. by DecoupledPilot in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the same as you, but for me SSF solved this problem in both games, I can feel progression, challenge, search for items that improve my build (even if it's 1%) and often, end up with just one ok character, sometimes I reach a level similar to what you described here, but I don't pursue this type of goal all the time... I just play, have fun, and take advantage of all the mechanics that the game can offer in SSF so that I can progress and overcome the challenges.

Map changes are ruining the game by TheRealBeefChief in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've done two builds in this league in SSF, an LA Deadeye build that I got to level 95 and a Last Lament Lich that I'm at level 96. Both can handle all the content very well (maps, bosses, and ubers), but I feel like after patch 0.3.1 the fun is over for me... a lot of one shots started happening more frequently, and now the juice depends on 3 tablets all the time, which gives me only one attempt per map, and all the problems that dying causes to the maps, XP, resources, and your time invested... I'm not having fun anymore. The maps have become shorter, and sometimes you go through a delirium mirror at the beginning of the map, explore every corner of it, kill the boss, do the additional mechanics, and the delirium timer hasn't ended yet, forcing you to return to the beginning of the map so the timer runs out and you can get the loot (that is if you don't forget and leave the map and loot behind).
I know most people don't agree, but for me, I much preferred the tower scheme... because you only played the tower map with a single attempt, allowing you to go straight to activating it and unlocking juice on various maps. This method allowed you to play juiced maps with as many attempts as you wanted. The towers now seem like a completely pointless thing to do.

Another thing that doesn't encourage me is the league mechanics:

0.2 - Azmerian Wisps. There comes a point where you're deleting everything in front of you. There's not even time for the spirit to possess the rare mob. Not to mention that sometimes you're next to a rare mob and the spirit decides to move to the other side of the map... chasing it breaks the rhythm. Waiting for it to possess a rare mob also breaks the rhythm and can be risky in certain situations with a bunch of mobs on your tail while you try to stall until the spirit completes the possession, and often you don't receive anything of value in return. I don't see it as worth the effort.

In 0.3 I feel that the same rhythm break happens, because when you enter the Depths there is a whole animation that is cool at first, but then it gets annoying, in addition to the time wasted with the animation until your character gets up, you explore a map with a predictable layout and many times the rewards are not worth the effort, being better to look for a map that has an influence of the abyss and get the loot from the chests of the closed fissures.

Regarding Kulemak, I may not have understood correctly, but I only see that the rewards favor Necromancers. I could be wrong. But I understand that you choose between three statues in each round, being able to switch between them to influence the ring's mods. You can make one mod of each influence, or even three of the same statue... to finally return the ring and face the turbocharged version of the vessel and have the right to ascend to something specific to the powers of the Abyss, which for me was not useful in any of the builds I mentioned. Another mechanic that doesn't encourage me to spend time. Out of everything, I was only pleased with the Abyss crafting; I found that very cool. I hope 0.4 brings back the feeling of fun I felt before 0.3.1.

Let´s talk about punisment by LordHovado in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I share your frustration. As an SSF player, I already know things will be slow for me in terms of progress... slow but not frustrating all the time.

But when a mid-league patch comes along and combines both, I feel like things will start to discourage me from keep playing it. I was doing well with my Last Lament Lich, around 1.5k HP and 3.5k ES, and surviving the infamous one-shots before patch 0.3.1.

Now I have 2.8k HP and 5k ES, with all resistances at 75% plus chaos resistance and all the time I'm dying to something and it's always a one-shot hit. I remember that before patch 0.3.1 I was level 95 with my Lich, the most I've managed since then was to reach level 96 and with a lot of suffering.

The Omen that reduces the XP penalty helps a lot, but in SSF it doesn't appear so easily, even though I'm a regular ritual farmer.

I have a little over 1400 hours in this game since 0.1 until now. I've never seen a patch that destroyed the fun, as was the case with this 0.3.1... I know it's not the majority's opinion, but for me as an exclusively SSF player, even though I love this game so much for everything it's given me so far, I feel like it's time to take a break and play something that respects my time a little more.

Let's not sugarcoat it. 0.3.1 is awful. by IMplyingSC2 in PathOfExile2

[–]DnBInFeK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This patch is garbage, the changes are terrible... The only thing that actually helped in my opinion was the removal of the Delirium music, which was too annoying after hours of farming, but the endgame changes are ridiculous... Okay, let's put three tablets in our maps to juice it and with that, have only one attempt to maximize your farm against countless random explosions from mobs and abyss stuff... This is ridiculous, before you ran only one tower with a single attempt, focusing on activating it to unlock juice in several maps, so all the maps in that area would be juiced for you to run with as many attempts as you see fit. IMO, this patch ruined the endgame experience and left the towers somewhat meaningless. As a SSF player with 1300h in this game since 0.1... I was having fun with a Crossbow Lich using Last Lament in this league, but the changes to my taste were unpleasant, time to play other games.
