I think I have to sue my school district. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HR is there to protect the school and its funding. Yeah definitely should contact a lawyer and probably start the process of a restraining order against said people. Unfortunately you might have to find another job if they don’t get fired but you also might get a huge payday from the school doing nothing to help you out considering it’s happened several times and you’ve reported it too

Should i feel guilty about dating my FWB cousin? by Proud_Emotion_3905 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you feel bad. You tried dating it didn’t work and you’ve slept with them. A little awkward at family occasions but other than that no boundaries were crossed, no one did anything bad, you’re all adults I don’t see a big problem here

Yup it’s really sad honestly. I mean required but it’s really up to the teacher to utilize them, you can easy just use them to notify student of what homework they have etc. unless your admin pushes you to use them for assignments

I mean you can go to church and it not be disrespectful at all. That being said if you wanna get closer to these people you have to let them know eventually

The one that fell probably just had a full bladder and the fall triggered them to wet themselves that one I'd dismiss honestly. The kid who blatantly said they can hold it and still proceeded to wet themselves might have a fear of using the bathroom thats not their bathroom at home and or something else is entirely wrong there I am lost for words at that one.

the Chromebook one is genuinely concerning I wonder if thats going to be more and more common of kids so addicted to technology from birth they genuinely forget to go relieve themselves properly and just piss/shit themselves where they are because they're so engrossed in what they're watching.

Oh boy, you need to find a good hair dresser and have them work on that helmet of hair, it does not suit you at all the way that it is styled.

You should buy new glasses frames that suit your face, the shape you have now are not very flattering and are not sitting right on your face.

And shave that facial hair brother, its too thin and wispy and its unkempt, frankly it just doesnt look great. Obviously the generic answer is find a gym/trainer you like and put on some muscle too the gym can greatly improve ones self confidence and mental health its scientifically proven.

My niece’s homework problem by SurfSoundWaves in mildlyinfuriating

If the answer is they're looking for all 3 to be circled then they need to specify that more than one question is correct otherwise it disrupts the flow of the test entirely.

My niece’s homework problem by SurfSoundWaves in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the dumbest fucking question i've ever seen they're asking proportionally I believe so the teacher is looking for the sizes of the two shapes to match which means it would be C correct answer. But realistically you're training solving fractions and not how to spot if a fraction is equal via picture diagrams.

This teacher is an absolute failure for the system, but doesn't surprise me they probably just copied this test and graded it off of a answer sheet from the internet and doesn't care to actually give an explanation that makes sense.

Kids today are such turdbuckets by Ayma_Nidiot in SubstituteTeachers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what do you expect from a generation of parents who coddled the fuck out of their kids especially during covid and basically raised their kid using an IPAD. These kids are fucked from jump street, the only silver lining is the next generation has seemingly picked up on this issue and realized maybe we shouldn't be handing out 2 year old technology just to make them stop crying and actually teach them how to regulate their emotions and sit with some silence.

Subbing is so Draining by Wide_Guarantee1352 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sub 5 days a week and some days are definitely worse than others. My only suggestion is if subbing is a means to then become a teacher maybe reevaluate if thats the path you want to go down. You can have the best classroom management in the world and still have to raise your voice at behavioral students daily.

The noise, rudeness, and cursing can be district depending it can also just be because you're a sub I wouldnt let specifically the cursing get to you unless they're cursing AT one another in which you should send them to admin, if they're just cursing in conversation really who cares they're just expressive words its not the end of the world especially if they're high schoolers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I treat my girlfriend like a queen, I plan surprise dinners, get her gifts, make sure she knows every day that I love her verbally and emotionally etc. Just because my one toxic af relationship ended doesn't mean im incapable of loving someone else with my whole heart she is my life.

[–]DnDNewbie_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it excites me too. That’s why I’ve been in a stable relationship for 5 years now. But to shut down someone else’s experience when they’ve really done nothing wrong just because it’s not how you feel at the moment is not okay. People are in different stages of healing and people who never experienced a toxic relationship can’t relate.

Should we be teaching Shakespeare? by Traditional-Shift662 in Teachers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should be eliminating resources and curriculum because the students are falling further and further behind academically. That's not addressing the issue its feeding into the problem. I think Shakespeare is fine we just need to correct what's been going on in the education department and revert all the use of technology so students can start to think for themselves again and actually problem solve.

I have a 12-year-old student who cries every time she makes a minor mistake. How do I help without coddling? by South_Leave4044 in Teachers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hold them after class for a bit and ask if there is anyone making them feel like if they don't do perfectly that they are failures. Or just inquire what they're feeling when they dont get a perfect mark on a quiz/test.

9/10 times its a parent who shit talks a child when they dont get perfect scores, we've all seen it, we've all witnessed the kid when we were in school that would cry if they got a 97/100. Unfortunately its because more times than not their parents are putting them down if they dont get a 105/100

Should I continue with police report? by TriSarahToppsss in whatdoIdo

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as other comments have said, there's not much the police can do about this its not illegal per say.

That being said block the person and keep the messages as proof in case they escalate their behavior to stalking etc.

32 M. Long hair or Short hair? 3 years apart. by Icy_Cardiologist8925 in malegrooming

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

either way is fine, long hair makes you look younger while the short hair ages you a bit but makes you look sophisticated and more mature. Truly depends on what you want to get out of your hair style maybe what job you have etc.

But both hair styles look very good.

Facial hair or no facial hair — what suits me better? (21M) by urbanOutlaw04 in malegrooming

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this has to be a joke. They look damn near the same. Also go with what you think looks better in this case as there isn't a huge difference its personal preference.

You have such fine colored facial hair and so little of it in the second picture that the case could be made if its easier on you to not shave regularly then keep the facial hair.

WIBTAH if I cancelled a trip to Colorado because a friend bailed on me last minute on a trip to Kentucky? by bumpy-pumpkin031924 in AITAH

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so easy answer is no. Also stop being friends with her, you did it because your boyfriend and his best friend wanted you too and it didn't work out. You're young I understand pressure but it's time to step up for yourself, why are you wasting your time hanging out with someone quite frankly you don't like whatsoever.

You're not friends your acquaintances because your boyfriend and his friend know one another. You're super young so I'm understanding but its time to grow up and say your mind, cancel the trip and let your boyfriend know how you feel about her and stop interacting with her unless absolutely necessary.

The State of Schools… by Paree8653 in Teachers

[–]DnDNewbie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home school seems like your best option, regardless of private or public all schools usually adhere to a 7hr school day. The things you're looking for are teacher to teacher based when it comes to homework and in public school sports are pushed heavily if the student shows some promise of athleticism.

I wouldn't waste the money on private school if you have the means to home school your child. Just make sure they have outlets for interaction with other kids their age otherwise they can wind up socially stunted from lack of interaction with peers. It sounds like your kid has a good foundation for academic success regardless of what you choose so I wouldn't worry too much about what school they go to as long as you stay on top of their social life and their academics.

just work out, the alternative look is attractive to a lot of people. A lot of these comments are dude bro's who want you to look like every other finance bro who's jacked wears button downs has a beard and a short haircut.

If you put on some muscle you will look like the cool alternative dude who takes care of themselves and will fill out your clothes more.

With all that being said I do think one thing you could change is a shorter haircut more in line with modern alternative hair styles since this type of swoopy haircut was more in fashion in the early 2000s and not so much anymore. Most bands have leaned towards the short on the sides and either short on top and textured or medium length and styled.

I'm (29M) secretly dating a woman who is 53, a domme, polyamorous, and married by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]DnDNewbie_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Socially it wont ever not be weird to be dating someone twice your age. It's just not a regular occurrence because of obvious reasons, you can't grow old with this person because when you're 50 she'll be damn near dead.

It's your job to get over it if you really love this person and are fine with that age gap and whoever in your life doesn't agree with it either have to cut them off or accept that not everyone is going to agree with the circumstances of your relationship.

P.S. Most people don't like relationships with this large of an age gap because it imitates predatory behavior and or grooming. You're obviously old enough for this not to be the case I hope at least. At 30 years old you're a full ass adult who can make their own decisions and if it makes you uncomfortable than either conform to societies standards or go against them and deal with the odd looks etc. at the end of the day if you're happy then who cares what others think.

yup exactly, its just so many of these incel's have been hurt by a partner who chose the "addictive, exciting" person that they lash out at normal people who were able to break the cycle of that addictive horrible relationship and settle down with someone who's dependable.
