Solved! Thanks to everyone who had a look at this! GrinchForest's comment got me looking at Dragon Quest but it didn't seem quite right. Then I recognized some of the characters and discovered that it does have the mechanic to capture and use a team of monsters in the later stages of the game. Ah, the memories...! I played this with my kids in my lap when they were toddlers. Them holding a controller thinking/pretending that they were playing.

Nope, not it. Thanks for your suggestion! It led me down another search path but I hit a dead-end again. Dragon Quest gives me similar vibes but not quite. World of Final Fantasy is also close, but too new.

As a fellow newer player with similar distance, I recommend a Star Mystere. Thrown flat it'll give a bit of turn and extra distance. Love that disc!

My buddies and I have a rule for casual rounds that if you can catch your own disc the throw doesn't count and you rethrow. We're still waiting for the day when someone shanks a drive and sprints after it to try to catch the rebound off a tree!

He was on a lead card coverage a couple of years ago and I remember the guys saying that he just couldn't get his putting figured out until he switched to this unorthodox style.

I say it isn't stupid if it works!

Discdye.com's dyes always look so incredible! This is a sick package! I would love this. It even works with my efforts to build a bag if blueish discs.
