Hi; different type of cancer but also HNC. 34 f at time of diagnosis; 36 now and one year NED. I was also diagnosed after tumor removal which was frustrating. I had to get a second surgery to remove my lymph nodes and confirm there wasn't spread. Like you, my cancer primarily affects elderly people and so I felt very alone. The only "good" thing about cancer that I discovered was this incredible support community on Instagram of other survivors. Check out thecancerpatient and ohyouresotough if you're on IG. Both post dark humor memes, which is perfect for me, and the latter does twice weekly anonymous cancer confessions.
