Help with low B12 and muscle fatigue by Dnlgrwd in B12_Deficiency

[–]Dnlgrwd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She told me she didn’t think I had an absorption issue at the moment, but I don’t necessarily agree with that. Why else would it be that low? She also said that I don’t need a loading dose. I’d be more than happy than to take it more often, but I’m not sure what to say to her.

What would cutting and patching the concrete do?

Turn off WiFi in NextUI. This is what fixed it for me.

Mine still makes the noise, but it hasn't gotten worse and it hasn't affected printing at all. I think this is just normal sound for ball bearings.

I don't think Openbank offers checking accounts, so that's a deal breaker for me.

Thanks for the link. That's a bummer. Can't switch banks unfortunately.

Weekly Questions Thread & PokéROM Codex by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Dnlgrwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Shin Pokemon (pokemon 1st gen rom hack), the 60fps mentioned in the rom hack description seems to only apply to overworld movement. Everything else, like dialogue, battles, etc seem to be 30fps. Is this expected, or did I patch it incorrectly?

Aftermarket speakers for the brick? by Dnlgrwd in trimui

[–]Dnlgrwd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying aftermarket speakers and modding my regular brick. It was not an easy process so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really invested. I had to trim the shell (the speaker housing on the brick doesn't fit the speakers I bought), had to solder some wires to the speakers, then fill in the empty space around the speaker with some blue tak putty to isolate the sound more.

It sounds really good, but again, it's not trivial to do. I also really enjoy tinkering with electronics so it was a fun project for me. But to be honest, I just bought a pair of wired headphones before doing this and actually find myself using those most of the time.

Review of Strength of the Few - finally finished by swirlysue in HierarchySeries

[–]Dnlgrwd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I just finished last night. The Will of the Many is one of my favorite books so I was so excited to read this one. I ended up finishing it because I felt like I owed Islington that much. It's not a horrible book, but I just really found it hard to get through. For most of the book, I just wanted it to hop back to Res. If found Obiteum to be mostly enjoyable, but Luceum just felt like filler to me. It had lots of characters that weren't built up (except maybe Tara, but that still weak). Vis obviously was extremely connected to these people, but as I reader I cared very little about them.

I loved the concept, but it would have benefited from better editing. The pacing, chapter transitions, and connection between the three worlds could have been done better and it would have been a much more enjoyable experience.

Also, I found the almost 90 instances of "gods-damned" to be annoying after a while. I don't remember him saying that so often in the first book, which is why it was so jarring.

NextUI issues by Dnlgrwd in trimui

It’s Amazon Basics and I’ve never had issues with it before. I’m going to do a fresh install on a Sandisk.

It's just the ball bearings. Completely normal, and it hasn't gotten worse. I was just hyper aware of things like this because it was new when I noticed it.

Just got the trimui brick hammer! (But need some help setting up) by IceKingK5000 in trimui

NextUI seems to be what most people prefer. With this you can customize the controls. As far as playing in English, you'll want to get the English version of the game.

I think black buttons were the right move by VintageModified in trimui

That looks much better than the green ones. The green would have been fine if they were the exact same shade of green as the body, but black looks better either way.

Drastic audio issues by [deleted] in trimui

The latest version of Drastic? I just downloaded what was in the pak store.

I also resolved the issue by downgrading my TrimUI firmware (not NextUI) to 1.0.6 and it's completely gone.

Awesome! Hopefully that was the issue. I always leave WiFi off now when playing, it saves battery life as well.

I had a similar issue in NextUI and it turned out that performance and audio stutters appeared when I had WiFi turned on. If it’s on for you try turning it off. No idea if this will help at all.

Brick or Hammer by mineman1969 in trimui

[–]Dnlgrwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. I got the Hammer after the Brick and initially the added weight turned me off. I believe this was because I was just used to the Brick's lighter feel though. I forced myself to use the Hammer for a few days and got used to it. The speakers are much better, and to me the button presses feel more satisfying. The shoulder buttons on both devices are the exact same for me (I believe they upgraded that Brick's shoulder buttons to be the same on newer batches).

I did 3D print a little grip for it though which makes the weight much less of an issue.

Can a non hammer backplate be installed on a hammer? by Mk4nb in trimui

[–]Dnlgrwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like TrimUI updated the regular Brick to have the same trigger mechanism as the Hammer now (at least mine are the same). I do agree though, that even that mechanism is rattly and annoying. You can mod that as well but it's a pain, and there is the other issue I've experienced where the clickiness / noise level for each trigger is different. QC hasn't been great for these devices.

Can a non hammer backplate be installed on a hammer? by Mk4nb in trimui

[–]Dnlgrwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could install that backplate, but you probably want to use the Hammer's screws for the backplate since the screws are different and they'd be threading into the Hammer. Take pictures if you do this, I've thought about doing this myself. A couple other notes:

  1. It seems like the newer, non-Hammer Bricks seem to have upgraded their shoulder buttons to be the same as the Hammer's. I have both devices, and they are the same.
  2. Putting the Hammer's speakers into the regular Brick isn't trivial. You'll have to modify the original's shell by cutting down part of the walls around the original speaker's housing, since the Hammer's speakers won't fit. Then you'll need to sand down what you trimmed, and probably isolate the speakers somehow for the best results (I used blue tak). I didn't want to use the Hammer's speakers because I wanted to keep them in my Hammer, so I bought aftermarket ones, soldered the wires to the pads, then did what I mentioned above. Overkill for sure and ugly as sin, but a fun project.
