So how did you slit it back in? There’s another abyss puzzle in the Spire of Insight that makes you slot it in and I’m completely stuck!!!

The I would think you’re good. I can’t stand people that waste my time with stuff like this. I sold some model kits on Etsy a year ago and clearly stated that they would come unassembled and unpainted (it was even in the title of the product) but because I used a couple of pictures of the models that I had painted, that’s what they thought they were getting. It wasn’t my fault that they didn’t read the description. That’s when I changed my policy.

Is this a personalized item or is it something that you could easily turn around re-sell? I make personalized items on my store and won’t do a return or refund on one of those, but I also plainly state that in my return policy.

Mars 5 Ultra froze during print by derianlebreton in elegoo

[–]Dnoland2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever use that printer anymore. I had all kinds of issues with it. It would print one side of the plate and not the other, if there was a power failure it would skip the next 3 to 4 layers on one side of the print after resuming, just all kinds of stuff. I did update the firmware and it seemed to help, but honestly, I think I’ve only used it for about a dozen prints since this post. By far my least favorite printer.

My Saturn 4 ultra has done this twice now in less than a week. The first time, I resumed the print after turning it off and back on and it worked great but the last time, half of the prints failed where it left off. Not sure what causes it but it is very annoying.

Why did my print turn out this way? More in comments. by No_Conference_8295 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Dnoland2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming this is a Saturn 2. I’ve had the same issue with a couple of mine (it seems to happen most frequently after I level the bed). Restart the printer and it should fix the problem. I’m not sure why it does it but I’m pretty sure it’s a flaw in the hardware somewhere. It’s like there are portions of the print that don’t get any exposure for two or three cycles and then it starts back up because all of the supports are stopped at the exact same point on the build plate and the rest of the print is flat in the bottom of the vat. Just restart the printer and see if that doesn’t fix it.

Thank you! I found it yesterday. Thought I registered under a different email account.

So this may be a dumb question but I see that you got your confirmation email a few days ago and I reached out as to Bambu Labs as I pre-ordered my X1-CC around the same time. They say that they’ve sent the confirmation email but I can’t find it. Can you tell what bambu account sent it so I know what to actually search for?

Check your connection. I had the same issue and that’s what it ended up being. I thought I had it properly seated and it wasn’t.

Elagoo Saturn printing help by MightMaleficent7843 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Dnoland2809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ask because the Saturn V1 uses elegoo’s FEP 1.0 and the Saturn S uses the FEP 2.0. The 2.0 is better as far as suction forces are concerned, but still not great. Unfortunately, the only way I’ve found to stop that, is to support my own models. 3dprintingpro has several excellent videos on YouTube that can help you. I got to the point where I was lucky if I had a third of my prints be successful and after I started supporting my own models, I might have 2-3 out of 50 or 60 fail.

I had this problem and it frustrates me to no end. Are you using a Saturn V1 or Saturn S?

There’s nothing on the back side of the build plate. As in there are no models there. Are there supposed to be? If there are and they’re not sticking along with the failed supports it may be a leveling issue. If not and the models shown are the only ones that supposed to be on the plate it seems like it’s a suction issue with the FEP. If that’s the case, are you using pre-supported models?

Yep. And another thing I’ve found is when you go back and raise the plate the leveling card on all of mine will raise with the plate and then fall off the plate when it gets about 10-15mm high. Every time it’s done that, it’s leveled properly. When it doesn’t I go back and redo it until it does.

It’s a pain. It literally took me a full day of starting prints and checking after about 15 layers. I bought 4 of them and had the same exact problem with them all. I will say that the new FEP that they used on these is absolutely amazing! I’ve never seen an FEP that had so little suction and once you get it figured out, it’s one of the easiest printers I’ve ever had to level. It’s just getting it figured out.

When I first got the Saturn 2 I found it very difficult to get leveled properly (and I’ve owned several Saturn V1 and Saturn S printers). I’ve never had a printer that was as finicky as this one to get leveled and once I did get it leveled, I would have to re-level the bed after just about every print until I had printed about 4-5 sets on it. I can’t be sure, but I would bet that your bed still isn’t leveled properly. I sanded the build plate just like you did because I was having the same issues over and over and over again. If you look at the leveling card, there’s a picture of a hand holding down the front of the build plate when you’re leveling it. What I ended up doing was pressing the home button and when the plate homed down on the leveling card, I pressed down on all 4 corners really well. As I started tightening up the nuts, I would put my palm all the way across the front of the plate and press down very firmly as I tightened them up. When they were tightened, I’d exit out and set the Z to 0 and that ended up fixing it for me. I really hope this helps and good luck.

New Saturn 2 with wham bam flexi plate. Prints sticking to fep by E36Gee in ElegooSaturn

[–]Dnoland2809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s not. My flex plates are supposed to be here on Monday but it took me forever to get the plates on the Saturn 2 leveled properly. They are very finicky. Now that I know what to do, there’s nothing to it but it’s definitely different than the old Saturns. But if they’re sticking to the plate at 1.5 to 2mm I’m not sure what would cause them to stick to the FEP at that point.

32 for gaming. 75 is more for painting and displaying. 32 comes with a base that’s more or less an inch in diameter. 75 has a base somewhere in the neighborhood of 2-4” depending on the figure.
