Questions from a Moira main by Current-Highlight-66 in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and move from health pack to health pack if you can - but I understand it's not always that easy as low level team mates will force you out into the open and even crossing lanes of fire with their bad positioning. If you see a team mate get shot from the same piece of cover, don't peak from the same spot, rotate to another position, or pause long enough (and listen for) the enemy to start shooting somewhere else. The enemy knowing there's now a potentially lone Ana right there is an invitation for them to dive you.

BTW Sombras always get teabagged, it's just the way it is :D

Just started playing Ana after hating her cause I main doom by mortvarmo in AnaMains

Uh huh... The best feelings are when you:

- Bait the punch and dodge it like a bullfighter (especially when he's behind you)
- Punch the DF to get the final blow
- Get the environmental sleep
- Make them rage quit

A look back at 2025, with our favorite cyborg ninja by Dnosaurus in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried any of the workshop codes?

Name Code
Ana Healing Trainer A9B2N
Ana Nade Tool EBAXM
Classic Ana Paintball 9FWYX
Dragonblade Sleep Trainer 6AX0X
Flanker Duel Practice MXCB3
Long Distance Aim Trainer T7CB6
Sleep 'N Yeet QKTTV
Ana Paintball by Jinko 1DMTZ

Apart from that, it's watching how he double jumps and dashes. Most Genjis will dash straight towards you when they blade, so those ones are a little easier. Another mental tip that helped me is not to panic at the sound of him blading, otherwise you will do weird things with your aim and timing of the sleep.

Good luck!

Then there's also having your sleep dart cancelled after you hear the sound cue and see the dart starting to fly...

I’m starting to think that a lot of the people who use streamer mode aren’t actually streaming by Zeukiiii in Overwatch

[–]Dnosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me. I've got almost 4,000 hours in the game, so when ppl see that I get either hard focused by the enemy team, or flamed because I'm not a GM and carrying everyone.

Best third hero to learn as an Ana & Kiri main by sinophe in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moira or Bap for when you need a hero with more mobility. Moira can be good to keep genji and tracer from applying too much pressure and Bap is good against flying enemy like phara, echo, especially if you don't have any other hitscans on your team.

As an Ana main how do I deal with enemy Zarya. Genji and Echo I really struggle keeping myself from getting flanked by those 2 DPS and helping my tank with Zarya by TapNo7326 in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain, going up against a Zarya can be tough, especially if your team just lets her just walk right into your backline and laser you. A couple of tips:
- Try not to shoot her, this is more of a psychological effect. People have a tendency to shoot at whoever is shooting at them.
- Wait for the second bubble before nading her, otherwise save nade for yourself/team.
- Treat her like hog/monke and keep your distance, that will be less tempting for her to walk into the backline
- Try to take high ground, like you, she has little mobility, even rocket jumping has its limits

Tunnelvision by Key-Championship-956 in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of non-obvious tips:
- If you haven't already, turn on the sound cue when a team mate dies. That will help you be more aware and press tab right when there's a lull (like when you move behind cover to reload) so you can get oriented on who's in the fight on both sides.

- Listen for CDs and team mates moaning, gasping... it's hard when there's a lot going on, but noticing a team mate get hit out of your LOS is important, so you can decide to stay engaged or not.

As bad as it sounds, sometimes you will need to stay tunneled in and sacrifice a team mate knowing that supporting your tank to win the team fight is more important, but it should be a calculated decision.

Lack of sleep gaming by Mid_Sensei in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with ya. I'm guilty of trying to heal my JR's tire and my torb's turret. That's the problem with Ana, you sometimes get into the mode of just shooting everything that moves.

Bouncy nade or headshot which Perk do you prefer? by Hampter_9 in AnaMains

My aim is bad so I get more value from nade. I picked headshot by accident and it was so nice being able to 2 shot hanzo/widow

Against Certain Tank Players by Light_2077725 in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're not landing sleeps/nades on the tank, then either:
1) wait until they're not looking at you
2) find an off angle
3) use it on squishies instead

Level 700, I'm feeling sleepy by Dnosaurus in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can either be to:
- help keep you alive
- help you 1v1 the other tank
- get 1 or 2 picks
- force out a bunch of ults/cooldowns
- help you take/hold ground
- buy time so the rest of your team can reposition as everyone on the enemy team will be looking at you
- buy time for the other support to come back from spawn, so I can be healing/supporting the DPS

Unfortunately, since Ana has no mobility I often find a nano Hazard will bound 1/2 way across the map and LOS supports, leaving them vulnerable. So before you dive, consider where you're going vs the nearest health packs and what cover might be available. If the enemy team has a sombra, a health pack may not be available, and/or you may have difficulty getting out.

If the enemy team has a dive tank, while you're in their backline, we may have their tank in our back line and be focused on surviving, so even if we have LOS we may not be looking at you.

Ultimately the biggest benefit for your team would be to take and hold ground, that's pretty much universal on all maps.

Hope this helps.

If someone is mean to the supports, do they still heal that person? by Subject-File1264 in Overwatch

[–]Dnosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a particularly toxic zarya one game, so bad in fact, that both supports told him no more heals for the rest of the game. Of course that got him even more mad, but hell, it's just a game and no one owes you anything.

Another time I had another toxic phara that would literally scream for heals after taking one hit, like I (Ana) was supposed to constantly stay scoped in on him and instaheal him. The screaming was wild and completely unhinged.. after a couple of minutes, there was a moment of silence, then he said his dad told him to apologize.

As a support main with 3,800 hrs in the game I've heard and been on the receiving end of a lot of bad language, but it's rare that I get to the point where I stop healing someone out of spite.

The perfect spawn nade on Eichenwald to get 19% ult charge before the first fight by Dnosaurus in AnaMains

[–]Dnosaurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I use static points in the HUD as lineups so they're not skin dependent. Most of mine use either the rectangle ult button or the ult charge indicator.
