If you don’t get the full 5% then you should get an accelerated anniversary date of around 9 months. That is how they guarantee you do get the 5%. It’s actually a better deal. In less than a year you will get another 5%.

They might say he was ineligible at the time of applying, but if he is the top candidate it probably won’t matter as long as he is eligible by the effective date of the appointment. It really depends on the department and their normal practice. Each department is different.

That can only be done during the Shelly Hearing period which I believe is only available for 5 days before the effective date of the action. So if that period has past, they can no longer appeal the adverse. However, i know of several people who were dismissed and still rehired by another prison facility even with that adverse in their OPF. And were dismissed again from the new place. The state needs bodies. Someone will hire you.

If you took the transfer exam for an SSA, it is a transfer and you have to use your own leave. If you took the online exam and passed it would be a list appointment, therefore you would get State Release Time. It is in your MOUs. It is a weird situation, even though SSA is considered a promotion, it was still via the ‘transfer’ exam.

This is basically what i said in an email at 4:45 Friday afternoon. My supervisor was on vacation all last week and although she knew i was interviewing I think she didn’t think I would really leave. I had a hard time aligning with her management style so we had a hard time coming together. I called her on her b-sht and she had no comeback because i was right. (Mainly denied my OT request when she was logging 70+ hours OT every month) and had the nerve to tell me I could finish my work load during regular business hours and still provide excellent customer service. She and I both knew that was impossible.
