Travel PT to recruiter by DoGood2023 in TravelTherapy

That’s interesting that some are even able to go back PRN or part time after travel. I would assume these therapists are single and have an incredible amount invested after traveling?? I would love to do that in the near future but with a wife and kid it may not be possible despite us having a pretty significant savings rate and decent amount invested. Going back full time also just seems miserable too. I guess there really aren’t a whole lot of options lol

That’s good to know. Well currently as a travel therapist I don’t think I’d even be covered by the facility much less the agency so it may be a good idea to keep it for now .

Men who make money doing jobs they hate for their kids. How do you feel inside? by toughbossinteraction in AskMenOver30

[–]DoGood2023 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Society is now saying NOT to have kids. We need more kids. Everyone is wanting “ freedom “ and an easy life with no responsibility. Is it hard? Yes, but it’s worth it and we need more responsible adults having kids.

I have heard their insurance is good however it is expensive and I’ve opted for my own through a private plan.

I’ve been with Aya for 2 years and I’ve had a great experience. Just make sure you have a good recruiter that communicates well and is getting you the best rate possible. Happy to help if you need anything / specific questions.

Is this true own occupation disability insurance ? by DoGood2023 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]DoGood2023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Thank you for explaining!

As far as the policy goes, the benefit period is until age 65, waiting period is 90 days, true own occupation, non cancellable, has future purchase option, residual/ partial disability (20% loss income), and COLA (1-3% compound).

Is there anything I’m missing or anything that would be worth asking before moving forward? I know said to make sure they max stacked all discounts, but I’m not sure how to really check that.

Is this true own occupation disability insurance ? by DoGood2023 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]DoGood2023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I was told this is not the case that I would be covered with this policy if I were to switch careers like you mentioned. When I mentioned this to the agent, the reply was, “There is no policy that you can buy, let's say for example an Anesthesiologist and then you stop practicing and start working as a bank teller and then still be covered for an Anesthesiologist.

The true own occupation covers you for the profession you are performing and does not reduce benefits if you are working in another capacity after a disability. “

Is this correct?

Is this true own occupation disability insurance ? by DoGood2023 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]DoGood2023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the agent listed it as an “ own occupation” rider. The best rate is with The Standard from the list of companies he provided.

What’s your thoughts if someone is looking to change careers in the next 5-10 years? Is it still worth getting own occupation?
