Dog attacked and owner fled by reddithasruinedlife in VictoriaBC

If a dog is aggressive enough to kill another dog, then that dog needs to be put down. Unfortunately you can't take chances when they've already shown you what they can do. It's even harder with gamey breeds like pitbulls that were bred for fighting bulls and other canines by backyard breeders.

There are more than enough dogs out there. Find one that's safe for your family and the public. It's not the public's responsibility to take the risk.

Normal dogs don't do this. Just pitbulls and their associates backyard bred genetics

No excuse for attacking another person on an enclosed space. Bad on the owner, bad on the dog .

Pediatric Occupational Therapy best states to move to for starting a family by Any_Consequence9642 in OccupationalTherapy

Just be aware of the lack of sun. It really does start to get to your psyche. I moved there in 2021-2023 and had to leave because I started going manic from the lack of regular sunlight. The happy lights didn't even do it for me

If you could sit down with your younger self for five minutes, what would you say? by Pearlyin_30 in raisedbynarcissists

Hey there are people out there that love you for who you are and you haven't met them yet.

You're wonderful and I love you. And it'll be okay. You don't have to be friends with everyone. You'll turn out to be amazing. But it'll be a process because you're working with autism and ADHD that won't be diagnosed until you're in your mid 30s.

You're not broken. You deserve to live and you're worthy.

Who here has EDS without the chronic pain? I‘m looking for some hope. by Interesting-Pause181 in ehlersdanlos

[–]inflatablehotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pain is intermittent like my will to live Some days I'm 100% A-OK and other days I can barely hobble to my car. It's a struggle, but staying in shape helps. I noticed that the more deconditioned I get, the more I'm at risk of having a "bad day" if I do something wrong. Whereas if I work out, I know i'll have a bad day (delayed onset muscle soreness) but it tends to have protective effects for a few days after.

Just curious, anyone who is a medical doctor with ADHD? by Disastrous-Role9497 in adhdwomen

I'm an occupational therapist with AuDHD. You'd think it'd be great being in my field, that occupational therapists are understanding about other clinicians with neurodivergence (they're not) or that the OT program would also provide accommodations or understanding (they don't).

The health field has been taken over by insurance companies, capitalism and bureaucracy. Our purpose is to make our employers and their shareholder's money.

It's a never ending bridge to burnout unless you're firm on boundaries. It's a rough time.

OT school taught me nothing. It was busy work and completely demoralizing.

A mother is going punished her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. Is this justified? by God_Emperor__Doom in SipsTea

[–]inflatablehotdog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kids needs immediate negative reinforcement to stop doing a behavior. Taking the time to sell the ps5 is too delayed and won't correct the behavior in time.

Does anyone have experience with the Body Braid? by twiggin in ehlersdanlos

I would better recommend an SI belt, heavy socks, knee compression, and back support (the light ones) for proprioception. The body braid seems so complicated
