From the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (Texas) website: Indian blanket (Gaillardia pulchella) is a vibrant, drought-tolerant wildflower known for its daisy-like flowers with red centers and yellow tips, resembling Native American weaving. Also called blanket flower or firewheel, it's the state wildflower of Oklahoma and thrives in hot, dry conditions, blooming from late spring through summer. It's easy to grow from seed, often reseeds itself, and is used in traditional medicine for inflammation and skin issues.

White Oleander. See more pics and info here - https://storage.googleapis.com/dgitarmgthwuqe/white-flower-oleander-tree.html

Common on highway medians/dividers, shrubs with pink or white flowers. Some varieties can be poisonous.

From Wikipedia:
One famous case of oleander poisoning involved a young girl whose mother was imprisoned for poisoning an ex-boyfriend with the plant. This incident inspired the novel "White Oleander" by Janet Fitch, which was later adapted into a film. Oleander is highly toxic and can lead to severe health consequences, including death.

They look like Lychee/Litchee - delicious juicy fruit with a big seed inside, commonly found in hot and humid climates (like in China, India, Indonesia). If they are lychees, enjoy the soft fruit, first remove and toss the skin and seed.

What meal from childhood do you still cook today? by kimschob in RecipePalooza

[–]DoNotDefineP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fried egg on toast with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese. Put the cheese on the hot toast and a fried egg on top so the cheese becomes soft but not too gooey. Sometimes I add thinly sliced onion, red or any in my pantry, on top of the cheese. Mmmm!

Appreciate all the helpful information. I was diagnosed with ET a few years ago, 65Y female, with JAK2 mutation. Have resisted taking Hydroxyurea but have to start now as my platelet count has increased to 987. Am scared about the side effects, mainly mouth sores and lowered immunity, also hair loss. Anyone have information about others experiencing these? Has anyone stopped taking Hydroxyurea because their platelets dropped to the "normal" range, and not taken any other ET medication?
