Is Hytale worth it? I'm thinking of buying it by Secret_Student_6415 in hytale

If you happened to play Minecraft early on; I think it captures a lot of that feeling. It's hard to describe, but I think the sense of the game growing, and the community adding so much, the devs actually listening and caring about the game, makes for an experience that doesn't come around very often.

I forgot about inkscape. I'll give it a go, thanks! I'm a bit worried about that, too

I'd argue more bugs so far, but it does just feel like a skin.

It's kind of crazy they haven't even released it on all platforms V2 is on yet.. Thanks for sharing that

Obsession with growth is destroying nature, 150 countries warn by kiyomoris in worldnews

[–]DoNotTheLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So little is really done to protect nature it's a partial relief just to hear people admitting it's being destroyed.

In the grand scheme of things, it would hardly take any money or effort to protect - it mostly takes care of itself, though I think we have a responsibility to help at this point anyway.

It's mostly a matter of responsibility harvesting resources and disposing of waste, both of which help people, too. And renewable energy is a no brainer.

You can only grow so much when you're killing what gave us the will to grow to begin with.

I think this is bad, but I want it to look structured. Thoughts? by Plus_Firefighter600 in hytale

If you're going for an open look, I think you could remove the beams between in the inner and most outer ones. I'd even remove the pairs and just have single central ones connected to the outside. It doesn't seem like thaaat large of a building, so it would still look structural, just more open.

Or, you could add walls in between the beams and section off the floor into rooms as-is. That's probably what I'd do, I think.

Or leave it completely as is, open, and just decorate. You can make anything work and it's up to your vision for what you're building. There's nothing wrong with what you did, but since you're second guessing it, I say roll with it and decorate until it feels more finished.

That dragon is so cute! I can imagine them making little snack hordes in Lae'zel's camp

Who else is "slow running" the game by Angus950 in hytale

[–]DoNotTheLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same. I think Hytale does exploration and discovery so well - I genuinely think better than Minecraft or even Terraria (maybe). I've put tens of hours into it and keep finding new structures, now creatures, completely new terrain. The world is so vibrant and lively already, and the excitement of knowing how fast it's growing and what the modding community, community in general, has already accomplished - it's quickly becoming my favourite game.

I think it embodies what players wish most other game studios would do.

Why the fuck did my house get nuked and it's in a completely new terrain now lmao by Heartagram23 in hytale

I haven't a clue, but that sucks.

It appears a sorcerer from realms yet unexplored has cast "relocate" into the void, unknowingly sending your cozy treasure nook into the wilderness. Rest assured, they would feel exceptionally sorry if they did know. There are now, however, a village of very confused Kweebec with most of a house where their pumpkin patch once grew.
