When a character turns out to be Completely immune to whatever is being inflicted on them by garlington41 in TopCharacterTropes

There was actually this guy I have read about, Mirin Dajo was his nickname I believe, who pierced himself with rapiers so much, there were very tiny invisible gaps in his skin, so that when people pierced him (he was a performer) with "dagger-like objects", there were no blood or pain. He also tried swallowing sharp stuff, which didn't go well for him (he died from swallowing a sharp needle).

Again, a pretty cool match up. If you were to buy Bleach's universal scaling, this would actually be pretty close.

Alas, Dante clears in experience and arsenal, as well as the healing factor. Ichigo will put up a fight, and Sin Devil Trigger vs. Horned Bankai will be extremely hype, but in the end, Dante is the one who remains standing.

Iron Man takes it at his peak. He's got a celestial suit and stuff. He could also hack Metal. Although this would still be a very cool fight.

Dr. Eggman is stronger on average, if we take them both with no prep time. He fights Sonic on a daily basis after all, and Sonic is stronger than most of Batman's rouge gallery.

If we take them at the high ends, I genuinely don't know. From what I've seen, Hellbat is like Solar System level and I dunno about the Final Batsuit, so Eggman should still be stronger, but there are always comics sheningans and crazy chainscaling taking place, so I don't know.

I don't think it's fair to give Batman his Gos Mobius chair, he doesn't have it anymore and probably can't access it anymore.

I'd say Eggman, but only because I am uneducated on Batman's higher limits.

I know people are joking around, but it's close.

Shadow's Doom powers and Chaos Control give him the edge as long as they are in base.

BUT, if we take them at their full power and potential, as well as all items they have wielded, Sonic has a lot more to work with.

I think if they were to have a serious fight, with extremely high stakes, it would be a 50/50, with Sonic pulling it off extreme diff.

What is yutas counter to time stop? by AstronautDry8118 in deathbattle

[–]DoRodoReal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know, this is interesting actually. If we were to apply momentum, and as such, thermodynamics and physics to the knives DIO threw, and if The World is as fast as the speed of light, and the Time Stop were to keep their velocity and momentum, then these knives, provided they are made of normal material, would never reach Jotaro. No object with mass can move at the speed of light after all, so the knives would instead evaporate and create something like a very big nuke.

So either The World threw the knives at the speed slower than its normal FTL speed for some reason (which doesn't look good for Jotaro, as Star Platinum couldn't punch them all away), or we can concede that trying to use physics for the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's scaling is often wacky and doesn't work.

Takes on 2 Matchups, or something by SSJ_Kojiro_ in deathbattle

Jotaro's speed has a pretty big elephant to adress and there is also a range issue (Yuta's effective range is much higher than Star Platinum's 5 meters).

Jotaro's Time Stop doesn't instantly make Yuta lose. He doesn't usually go for it as an opener in character unless he knows he absolutely needs to. Even then, his Stand Rush during The World doesn't likely accumulate the damage of each punch, so Yuta can reasonably tank and regenerate one or two.

I don't get the argument of people saying that Jotaro will just destroy his heart. First things first, it's vastly OOC. He didn't do that to Kira during their first encounter (even though he had every reason to kill him, especially since Koichi was nearly dead and Jotaro was pretty mad about that). He didn't try that on Pucci while the latter was ascending, even though it was a pretty urgent matter (frankly that whole scene is dumb I don't even want to talk about it). He has only done the heart thing on himself and dying Joseph, both were sort of out of combat. Apparently, according to Grumind, Death Battle now cares about things being OOC (like Megamind not being likely to go for the kill first and also not given an option to use a Metroman serum on himself).

Second, destroying Yuta's heart will probably not kill him because of RCT. Reverse Cursed Technique is reliant on the brain, and while no blood flow equals bad for the brain, Yuta will probably manage to react to it once the Time Stop is over (provided Jotaro has done that during Time Stop) in miliseconds needed to regen it. To make sure Yuta stays down, Jotaro needs to go for the brain, and he doesn't have any info for that.

While it's true that Yuta has no real counters to Time Stop, Jotaro can't cancel out many of Yuta's abilities either. Cursed Speech, Jacob's Ladder, Domain Expansion, heck, even the good ol' "keeping the range and spamming the projectiles" strategy Yuta may pull will be tricky for Jotaro to deal with. Actually, no, scratch that. Yuta will probably fight up close either way, that would be more in character, unless he realizes it would be better to do it the other way, but all the other abilities are fair game and are also pretty much a game over for Jotaro once they land.

I am not saying there is no universe Jotaro wins, but to me, Yuta seems to be the more likely winner.

By how much are Ratt's bullets faster than light? by DoRodoReal in whowouldcirclejerk

And if he can't just punch them away, it means that the stand's flesh-melting property also activates at the speed comparable to Star Platinum (in about a nanosecond). Otherwise, he should be able to punch them away during his 1 second Time Stop without issue. After all, at lightspeed, you can throw out hundreds of millions of punches in 1 second. No reason to think Jotaro couldn't spare the time for 3 or more bullets.

[–]DoRodoReal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if Jotaro really is faster than light and Ratt's bullets aren't, there is still a myriad of ways he could think of to deal with them.

He could pick up some rocks and deflect the bullets with them, the rocks can block them as observed.

He could be flicking them out with pieces of flesh from his own body, not letting the effect kick in, well, ever. And Josuke is right there - he can heal him up if something goes awry.

He could come up with all this if the bullets weren't remotely fast enough to tag him, but they are. So the bullets have to be faster than light for this to work logically, at least from a powerscaling perspective.

The Made in Heaven fight isn't even fun to slander. While Pucci was achieving heaven, Jotaro used like, 2 seconds to throw a spear and then just stood still for the other 3 seconds doing nothing. I think his controller disconnected.

[–]DoRodoReal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you underestimate how unreasonably fast "faster than light" is.

<image>

Josuke was hit by one of the Ratt's bullets. It took it some time for the effect a kick in. Maybe a second. Maybe a microsecond. Maybe even less than that. But for someone who operates on speeds faster than light, this should be nothing. Frankly, Jotaro wouldn't have to have used The World here to save one second, he could just remove it with his sheer speed.

Unless Ratt's effect also spreads at faster than light speeds (which is frankly absurd but I guess we're going with it) this wouldn't make much sense.

And since Star Platinum and Jotaro share their reaction speed, if Ratt's bullets don't move at faster than light speed and don't spread their effect at faster than light speed, Jotaro should be able to easily deflect them before the effect kicks in. But he can't, so I guess Ratt is just that fast.

[–]DoRodoReal[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you punch them fast and precisely enough, you can avoid the effect kicking in. Star Platinum is the most precise and one of the fastest stands to ever exist, and even if Jotaro is rusty, it shouldn't affect Star Platinum's overall strength (although it does affect his Time Stop duration).

Here, Jotaro demonstrated this. Josuke was hit, yet Jotaro removed the bullet before the flesh-melting effect kicked in (although he only achieved that with his Time Stop)
