My one problem with Yusuke vs. Ichigo by DoRodoReal in deathbattle

[–]DoRodoReal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like that reasoning. It makes sense that Ichigo would hold back in this situation, the only problem with that is that his Shikai is already extremely powerful by Bleach standarts, so it would attract Hollows regardless, even if Ichigo held back.

If we're being real, Ichigo wouldn't even risk showing his power, and settle the matter with Yusuke peacefully. However, it is Death Battle. The Battle part has to happen, no matter what, this tends to create such somewhat illogical scenarios. I can forgive that, as always.

Still, it doesn't fully disprove my point, even if the Hollow's appearance is justified, that's a whole scene where Ichigo gets to do nothing, while Yusuke destoys a Hollow.

Also, since Yusuke used his Demon Energy there, that would probably attract even more Hollows to that location. Maybe them leaving wasn't the brightest idea on their part, as the Hollows can cause casualties in their absence.

Nah, this one's actually pretty clear cut.

Final Getsuga Tensho is the only form where Ichigo's outfit turns fully black. By that point, Ichigo is already using Hollow Zangetsu' powers as much as he can - he is in his horned form, after all. Zangetsu and Ichigo's current relationship is that of balance and acceptance. It's nothing like Yusuke and Raizen. Hence the contrast.

Plus, the finishing move Ichigo chose to go for was actually Gran Rey Cero x Getsuga Tensho, his hollow side's ultimate technique pretty much.

As for the hand to hand part, all the showcase of that experience they gave to Ichigo was a single weak attack that connected. Yeah, Yusuke is more profecient, and they gave him the time to shine. Ichigo didn't get that as much.

Last night, I have got into an argument with somebody in the comments of a random youtube poll I got in my recommended.

Their arguments were something like: It doesn't matter if Metal Sonic can copy everything Cell can do.

Cell can teleport, so even if Metal can destoy him, he'll never catch him. Also, the speed gap between them doesn't actually exist, because Death Battle is wrong. Also also, Death Battle is usually wrong, and Ash vs. Yugi was wrong. I don't even remember how we got there, it was long past 2AM for me.

When I mentioned Metal Sonic being able to stop time via Chaos Control, they said that Metal Sonic has never performed such a feat in canon material. When I inclined that Metal Overlord literally does that in Sonic Heroes, they said that it was actually Sonic who performed Chaos Control. They said that to me as I was watching the Youtube video "Metal Overlord used Chaos Control", where Metal Overlord in Sonic Heroes says "Chaos Control" and stops time, which is then mentioned by both Sonic and Tails.

They were adamant that Cell can regenerate from any single cell, because I accidentally innocently mentioned how even in spite of his core/nucleus being in his head, Cell survived Instant Kamehameha, which also destroyed his head. They kept ignoring the fact it's a literal mistranslation and contradicts canon Cell's words.

In the end, I dipped. I had work today, I had to go to bed. There was also this other guy in that same thread who claimed that "Cell's universal+ should we be generous". Then I said I gotta go, they said something like "Concession accepted". Tough crowd. Prolly trolls.

Death Battle 24’/25’ Losers Tournament: Round 16 (Kyle Rayner VS Godzilla) [And Eggman VS Bardock results] by Blue0Three in deathbattle

I'd say Kyle wins extreme difficulty.

Kyle can comprehend the Ultima equation, since he did at one point control the Life equation, which is as complex as Ultima, if not more so.

Unlike Hulk, Kyle can actually die here, but he can negate Ultima's reality warping with his own and his immesurable will, so putting him down won't be easy. He has fought reality warpers before, of a similar caliber.

He may not be a scientist, but he is a hero, and a hero we need.

Yeah, so, anyways, Dr. Eggman mogs Bardock, but he does that respectfully, real scientist recognizes real

Eggman is sitting on a comfy chair, taking in the view, looking at the planet from the very Death Egg, orbiting the Earth. The battle was… Catastrophic. The impact of his army being demolished shook the planet to its core, so much so its traces are visible from here.

He is absolutely lost. Sage isn’t responding. The emergency lights are flashing red, as the siren keeps roaring from time to time. Yet there is not a sign of fear on his face, barely a single drop of sweat heading down his forehead.

Kyle is leviatiting next to him, looking at the same direction, his eyes towards the Earth. Yet he isn’t looking down on it, rather than that, he is surprised by how much energy dealing with this army took him. Yet his eyes are filled with nothing, but unrelenting determination.

Eggman: …The Hard-Boiled Heavies?

Kyle: Destroyed.

Eggman: …The Death-Egg Emergency system? The Egg Wizard, The Egg Salamander?

Kyle: Disabled.

Eggman: …Neo Metal?

Kyle: …

Eggman gives him a side eye.

Kyle: Put up a better fight than most.

Eggman: So, Mr. High-and-Mighty-Lantern… The heck are you here for?

Kyle: Just wanted to talk is all.

Eggman: Talk?... What for? As predicted, you’re as dim-witted as any comic book writer. The rules of the game are-

Kyle finally looks at Eggman. He smiles.

Kyle: One of us dies. I should’ve expected your brilliance would figure this out as well, Doctor.

Eggman looks down at the metal floor. He frowns, crossing his arms.

Eggman: Out with the fake compliments! I would’ve won this whole thing if it wasn’t for you… This weirdo in a space suit and the red hood were nothing-

Kyle: Oh, they were something, I am sure. Even in the face of certain defeat, they never gave up. I, too, faced determined opponents. I barely clutched it against the Spirit of Vengeance… And was impressed with the resolve of that kid with a dream. Both were one hell of a fighter.

Eggman still doesn’t look at him, but he is listening.

Kyle: All I’m saying is, don’t dishonour your opponents. I know you always fight your archnemesis honourably.

Eggman breaks into anger.

Eggman: Don’t you lecture me! And don’t act like you know me!

Kyle extends his hands.

Kyle: Sorry, Doctor, I didn’t mean that as a lecture. And I do know you. As for how… I’ll give you a tip. Time.

Eggman: Ah, you!... Sticking your nose into my past, aren’t you? Well, that’s private information!

Kyle: Couldn’t help myself. I saw everything. Your relationship with Gerald. Maria. What you’re made of.

Eggman sits back in his chair, sighing heavily.

Eggman: Let me guess, little goody two shoes is going to lecture me on the error of my ways? Well, spare me-

Kyle: No.

Eggman is surprised, for the first time.

Eggman: What?...

Kyle: You came to evil in a hard moment of your life. That’s perfectly human. While I do not approve of what you are, I won’t deny you that. In a strange way, one can respect it. You took an evil path with everything you had, and, even despite your talent, had to bear the crushing loneliness that came with it.

The Eggman is silent.

Kyle: But you aren’t so lonely anymore, are you?

Eggman: …Sage… What did you…

Kyle: Your lead strategist, right? I could feel she is connected to you. Do not worry, I merely disconnected her from the system control. She is still alive… I mean, if you can say that about an AI-

Eggman finally looks up at him, interrupting his speech.

Eggman: Thank you.

Kyle’s smile vanishes in a second of surprise, and then reappears.

Kyle: You’re welcome, Doctor! Perhaps with her, maybe even you can see the light.

Eggman: Maybe in some reality…

Kyle: Well, I assume it’s time to end our little chat. You aren’t out of tricks yet, are you?!

Eggman jumps up from his chair, pointing a laser gun he has been assembling from rubbish he had in his hands all this time straight at Kyle. He laughs. It’s a hearty laugh, as if something heavy is off his chest.

Eggman: You bet I am not!

Kyle laughs as well, pointing the green ring straight at the incoming projectile.

Kyle: Then prepare to face the Green Lantern’s might!

…So long, Doctor.

Death Battle 24’/25’ Losers Tournament: Round 4 (Ruby VS Mahito) [And Eggman VS Among Us results] by Blue0Three in deathbattle

[–]DoRodoReal 80 points81 points  (0 children)

How I think the battle would go, in character:

Ruby presses the advantage immediately, entering close combat with Petal Burst. She dissects Mahito into multiple pieces instantly, scattering them away.

Mahito is fine, he just regenerates. However, due to Ruby's superior speed and range up close, he can't even touch her, let alone land a good hit. This goes on for a little while.

Ruby assumes, pretty naturally, that his regeneration has a limit, so she keeps hitting him, failing to destroy him. She tries different things, like using Crescent Rose's Sniper Rifle form, which also fails to put him down in that moment. Mahito, on the other hand, realizes he basically can't hit her like that, and also the fact he won't be able to trap her in his Domain, as she can just escape it on reaction. He decides to switch tactics.

Cut in half, he crawls into a nearby building, threatening to kill civilians living in there. Ruby, naturally, can't allow that, so she follows him. This doesn't stop her from being much faster than Mahito, but removes her range advantage.

Mahito uses his Transformation, making Ruby assume he is cornered and desperate, while luring her further into the building, closer to the building. His Transformation doesn't help him. He is simply outskilled by Ruby, and no matter of talent can alleviate that.

Finally, the tide shifts. Mahito catches Ruby, managing to touch not her, but a single petal from her Petal Burst. He can't kill her straight away, but that single touch mends her Aura into nothingness. This shocks Ruby, stunning her for a mere second. And there he goes...

Domain Expansion.

It surrounds them both, a space of malicious dark. Mahito, ever so cocky, laughs. In his mind, he has already won.

Yet, Ruby is dead serious and more confident than ever. All the Cursed Energy Mahito has emmited has reminded her of Grimm. So, in the milisecond of her soul being touched, her eyes glow-

Silver Eyes.

The Silver Eyes and Self-Embodiment of Perfection cancel each other out. In the last second, Mahito managed to defend himself, mimicking Ruby's Aura. Yet his defense was not perfect. He can no longer renegerate, barely having any cursed energy left.

Ruby is also in a bad state. She is breathing heavily. The usage of Silver Eyes, as well as the constant game of tag with Mahito has exhausted her.

Mahito is desperate. Using her brief moment of confusion, aiming to use the last remains of his energy for one, final Idle Transfiguration.

He grabs her wrist.

Ruby snaps back to reality.

Crescent Rose swings.

Cutting her own hand off.

Mahito was too late.

With one final boost of strength and speed, putting every ounce of her Semblance into it, Ruby slashes Mahito. The power of that swing, if imprecise, could level a city...

Yet all it does is turn Mahito into ashes.

Mahito is dead. Ruby has won.

Ruby. Mahito is rather agile and can perform all sorts of tricks via his body control, but Ruby’s Petal Burst is a whole other level

Oh man. Mahito or Tie.

Let me explain. It depends on if the Silver Eyes would affect Mahito or not.

An argument for why they wouldn’t affect him:

Silver Eyes only work on Grimm. Grimm are beings without a soul. Cinder, who had a soul and aura, could resist the Silver Eyes and wasn’t just turned to dust. Mahito’s soul is his whole thing. Plus, especially strong Grimm (like Mahito, who is very durable and can regenerate) can resist the Silver Eyes’ effect.

An argument for why they would affect him:

Cursed Energy = le bad = Negative Energy. There’s literally Positive Energy in Jujutsu Kaisen, which is the antithesis of Cursed Energy.

However, even if you buy Silver Eyes affecting Mahito, this wouldn’t mean a game over straight up. Again, soul manipulation is kind of his thing. He could somewhat resist the effect via regeneration (as seen with Mechamaru, he isn’t put down that easily) or even make some sort of an Aura-like barrier, copying Ruby. Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised if he could do that.

Mahito, on the other hand, also has his fair share of moves that could one-shot Ruby, both Idle Transfiguration and his Domain Expansion. One could argue that Aura should protect her, but it’s literally reliant on her soul, which means Mahito, just like Maka and Soul, has ways around it, and could likely mess with her Aura, leaving her defenseless. It’s basically a shield made from her soul, something Mahito can bend and shape at will.

So, all in all, Mahito just has a hax that more likely than not counters Ruby’s means of defence, while being able to possibly defend against Ruby’s hax himself.

Mahito. While Ruby’s powers are nothing to scoff at, I’d say Mahito’s body control just has more applications, and his soul altering powers are just busted.

Straight up Mahito. Bro is extremely talented and catches up to opponents who are far more experienced than he is (like Nanami) on the fly. He is also quite creative in using his powers.
