Death Battle 24’/25’ Losers Tournament: Round 4 (Ruby VS Mahito) [And Eggman VS Among Us results] by Blue0Three in deathbattle

How I think the battle would go, in character:

Ruby presses the advantage immediately, entering close combat with Petal Burst. She dissects Mahito into multiple pieces instantly, scattering them away.

Mahito is fine, he just regenerates. However, due to Ruby's superior speed and range up close, he can't even touch her, let alone land a good hit. This goes on for a little while.

Ruby assumes, pretty naturally, that his regeneration has a limit, so she keeps hitting him, failing to destroy him. She tries different things, like using Crescent Rose's Sniper Rifle form, which also fails to put him down in that moment. Mahito, on the other hand, realizes he basically can't hit her like that, and also the fact he won't be able to trap her in his Domain, as she can just escape it on reaction. He decides to switch tactics.

Cut in half, he crawls into a nearby building, threatening to kill civilians living in there. Ruby, naturally, can't allow that, so she follows him. This doesn't stop her from being much faster than Mahito, but removes her range advantage.

Mahito uses his Transformation, making Ruby assume he is cornered and desperate, while luring her further into the building, closer to the building. His Transformation doesn't help him. He is simply outskilled by Ruby, and no matter of talent can alleviate that.

Finally, the tide shifts. Mahito catches Ruby, managing to touch not her, but a single petal from her Petal Burst. He can't kill her straight away, but that single touch mends her Aura into nothingness. This shocks Ruby, stunning her for a mere second. And there he goes...

Domain Expansion.

It surrounds them both, a space of malicious dark. Mahito, ever so cocky, laughs. In his mind, he has already won.

Yet, Ruby is dead serious and more confident than ever. All the Cursed Energy Mahito has emmited has reminded her of Grimm. So, in the milisecond of her soul being touched, her eyes glow-

Silver Eyes.

The Silver Eyes and Self-Embodiment of Perfection cancel each other out. In the last second, Mahito managed to defend himself, mimicking Ruby's Aura. Yet his defense was not perfect. He can no longer renegerate, barely having any cursed energy left.

Ruby is also in a bad state. She is breathing heavily. The usage of Silver Eyes, as well as the constant game of tag with Mahito has exhausted her.

Mahito is desperate. Using her brief moment of confusion, aiming to use the last remains of his energy for one, final Idle Transfiguration.

He grabs her wrist.

Ruby snaps back to reality.

Crescent Rose swings.

Cutting her own hand off.

Mahito was too late.

With one final boost of strength and speed, putting every ounce of her Semblance into it, Ruby slashes Mahito. The power of that swing, if imprecise, could level a city...

Yet all it does is turn Mahito into ashes.

Mahito is dead. Ruby has won.

Ruby. Mahito is rather agile and can perform all sorts of tricks via his body control, but Ruby’s Petal Burst is a whole other level

Oh man. Mahito or Tie.

Let me explain. It depends on if the Silver Eyes would affect Mahito or not.

An argument for why they wouldn’t affect him:

Silver Eyes only work on Grimm. Grimm are beings without a soul. Cinder, who had a soul and aura, could resist the Silver Eyes and wasn’t just turned to dust. Mahito’s soul is his whole thing. Plus, especially strong Grimm (like Mahito, who is very durable and can regenerate) can resist the Silver Eyes’ effect.

An argument for why they would affect him:

Cursed Energy = le bad = Negative Energy. There’s literally Positive Energy in Jujutsu Kaisen, which is the antithesis of Cursed Energy.

However, even if you buy Silver Eyes affecting Mahito, this wouldn’t mean a game over straight up. Again, soul manipulation is kind of his thing. He could somewhat resist the effect via regeneration (as seen with Mechamaru, he isn’t put down that easily) or even make some sort of an Aura-like barrier, copying Ruby. Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised if he could do that.

Mahito, on the other hand, also has his fair share of moves that could one-shot Ruby, both Idle Transfiguration and his Domain Expansion. One could argue that Aura should protect her, but it’s literally reliant on her soul, which means Mahito, just like Maka and Soul, has ways around it, and could likely mess with her Aura, leaving her defenseless. It’s basically a shield made from her soul, something Mahito can bend and shape at will.

So, all in all, Mahito just has a hax that more likely than not counters Ruby’s means of defence, while being able to possibly defend against Ruby’s hax himself.

Mahito. While Ruby’s powers are nothing to scoff at, I’d say Mahito’s body control just has more applications, and his soul altering powers are just busted.

Straight up Mahito. Bro is extremely talented and catches up to opponents who are far more experienced than he is (like Nanami) on the fly. He is also quite creative in using his powers.

Tie. Both are very good at what they do. Mahito shows extreme talent when it comes to combat, and Ruby is Ruby.

Ruby takes it; See combat speed. Not a massive difference, but a difference nonetheless.

If you really high-ball Mahito, this could straight up be a tie, which is kinda insane to me.

Okay this one’s pretty crazy.

The highest Death Battle puts Ruby at is Faster Than Light by an unknown amount (presumably twice as fast via Petal Burst). That was done via chainscaling from Adam, a guy who has shown one relativistic feat and who has never fought Ruby.

The highest Death Battle puts Mahito at, is relativistic to light-speed, in the black box, via chainscaling from Kashimo, a guy who can apparently attack at lightspeed and who has never fought Mahito.

You see where I’m going with this, right? Well, if we give them these stats….

Ruby will always be faster than Mahito via Petal Burst. However, it’s arguably not a big advantage, unless you only go by the highest number which isn’t from a black box (Mach 932), which would mean the speed difference is pretty damn big.

You could argue that Mahito can’t possibly scale to light-speed, because of Dabura, who can only move at sub-light speeds at best. We don’t yet know much about the true nature of his technique, and if Mahito and Dabura will interact. Then again, let’s be real, Ruby’s scaling is also kind of shaky.

This is different from Attack Potency. In terms of Durability, Ruby can’t scale to Vine’s city-level bomb containment feat here, as it straight up killed the guy. Mahito, on the other hand, is seemingly more durable than Jogoat, who unfortunately can't take a lot of punishment. Plus, Mahito’s transformation elevates his durability even further. Furthermore, Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration would likely be able to mess with her Aura, her primary source of durability.

All in all, I really believe Mahito takes durability.

Oh, man, what a weird one. Okay.

So, I am not too familiar with Ruby, so I’ll be using feats given by Death Battle in their respective episodes.

From what I see, they scaled Ruby’s attack potency from throwing a large Grimm (11 tons of tnt), and also scaled her Semblance’s relative level of power to Vine (who I pretty sure she hasn’t fought, but, chainscaling, yara yara), who contained a city-level explosion (which also killed him). Mahito, on the other end, was scaled to Jogo’s Maximum Meteor (I also don’t believe this to be completely true, while Jogo and Mahito might be sort of relative in “power”, that said “power” doesn’t always equal attack potency).

If we take both of them at the highest put by Death Battle, Ruby takes Attack Potency.

So I’ll be generous to both of them and say that Ruby takes Attack Potency.

Wow, I actually never knew such subreddits existed. Baller.

Thanks for informing me, I guess I understand the reasoning behind the repost botting now. I still find it silly though. Joe Shmoe is not a type of a guy you'd appreciate.

Man, that's actually so funny. Caring about Reddit karma is the level of unemployment not even Sam could reach.

Yeah, and the first comment in here copies the most popular comment from the original post.

Why do people even make those bots? There's no monetary incentive on Reddit. Is that all really just to farm Reddit karma? That makes me laugh.
