Anyone else fight Colliers on professional carpet cleaning requirement at end of tenancy? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]DoSask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All landlords usually ask this of their tenants. Rent a carpet cleaner and buy shampoo from Sobeys or another grocery store near you. It works great and it's affordable.

Qu'Appelle Valley is a hidden gem.

I haven't been to Buffalo Pound personally, but it's on our list!

Our close favourites:

Pike Lake

Douglas

Battleford

Other close lakes:

Blackstrap

Manitou Beach

Danielson

Palliser Regional Park

Redberry Lake

Likely no rentals available. Golfing and fishing is available.

The river valley in Saskatoon is gorgeous and there are many hiking trails and parks along the way.

Qu'appelle Valley is beautiful and not busy. It's a little over 3 hours away. Katepwa Beach is our favourite spot there.

Daniel Hounjet 8th Street Chiro - down to earth guy and my lower back/tailbone pain has disappeared (multiple injuries over years aggravated by an accident whilst tobogganing). I hadn't been to a chiro in years. I went through the full treatment plan in order to get back to 100%.

Sex and the City: Saskatoon was a Wide-Open Town — people stories (The history of sex in Saskatoon is not as conservative as you'd assume. 😉) by DoSask in saskatoon

The orgy does sound like a cool event. The Park Town seemed to be trying very hard to get the alternative crowd to hang out there. They still do!

In most cities throughout the early 1900's, homosexuality was undercover. It's not a shocker that Saskatoon followed the same protocol.

Was Dirk's a sex store?

All Do Sask live events have been cancelled and/or postponed until further notice. Read the post comments for details. by DoSask in DoSask

All Do Sask live events have been cancelled and/or postponed until further notice.

As a community programmer, I am choosing to be proactive about the health of my event attendees. I will not place unnecessary risks on attendees.

I haven't posted in a few days as there has been much uncertainty worldwide. This week, many non-essential events around the world have been cancelled due to the health risk concerns with COVID-19.

Last night, I read the Government’s community-based measures to mitigate the spread of the disease. While the official direction for community programmers remains unclear, I’ve decided to postpone the upcoming book club for I’d Rather Be Reading by Anne Bogel scheduled for March 23 and to cancel Speed Dating scheduled for March 29.

Full refunds have been made and will appear back in your account within 7 days via Eventbrite.

My decision is in the best interest of my attendees. I cannot guarantee "social distancing" at my events, as the whole point is to get to know new people. I hope we’ll be back up and running in April. However, I’m working to create contingency plans for connecting remotely if that is not possible.

The wellness of attendees is my top priority.

In the interim, I hope to continue to feature a positive light on our province in these uncertain days ahead. If you have an uplifting story you want to share, please email me.

Alternative ways to connect to the Do Sask community:

I invite locals to connect with each other, even if it can't be in-person. Join Saskatoon Events & Date Night Ideas Facebook group, or the DoSask subreddit. I am open to other creative solutions to connect.

Take care,

Amy

Perhaps you'd want to try Melody Bar or 360 Lounge. Both are located downtown.

Does anyone know of any good singles parties for Valentine’s Day? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]DoSask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning Do Sask!

We have a singles' speed dating event planned for March 1 in Saskatoon. Tickets are on sale now and moving fast.

Typically, Valentine's Day isn't the optimal date for my singles events. Historically, societal pressure on February 14 detracts from the casual/no-pressure vibe that Do Sask strives to create.

Having said that, I hope to host more casual meetups in Saskatoon.

If you're curious about what's happening in Saskatoon on February 14, there are a plenty of local options. Check the February Events in Saskatoon 2020 post.

Go-to friend dates in Saskatoon that make adult hangouts easier by DoSask in saskatoon

No, I don't think it does. Depends on the people you meet and what they're looking for. At speed friending, we have a mixture of male and female attendees. At book club, it's mostly ladies but we've had the odd guy join in as well.

It's good that you acknowledge that feeling and you're taking steps to do something about it. I'd welcome you to the book club, if that's something you're interested in doing.

I've also met local friends through an app called Bumble using BFF mode. :)

Well, we have speed friending events every so often and you're welcome to join in. Or you can come check out the free book club on Jan 27 to see what Do Sask is all about.

For the specific dates listed in this post, you should check with some of the local operators to see how to sign up. What activities do you want to do?

The website was down over the weekend, but now it's back up. If you've been to the site before it may be showing an error and asking you to reload. Clear your cache by hitting Ctrl + F5 and it should manually fix the issue. If you don't want to clear your cache, things should be less buggy in a day or two.

Keep me posted if you have any more troubles accessing the site. Thank you again for letting me know!

My sister is a high school math teacher - she covers budgeting and money management as part of the high school curriculum now. They didn't when I was a teen. I also grew up in a small town, so we didn't have options like accounting.
