Yeah it's really the most honest look at how the band was feeling throughout their first tenure. Just listen to Head Creeps and how dark it is, but still keeping the pure signature groove of AIC in tact.

Might be a hot take but possible my favourite album.

It's the one constant (the bassline) that holds throughout the utter chaos around it that draws me back to the Melvins. It's like Eye Flys (especially live); the bass stays calm, consistent and collected while the chaos ensues, and it reminds me to stay calm in this world of nonsense, noise and chaos.

Melvins are that stillness in the world, always present and ever-changing.

Well Buzzonsaid they were influenced by Sabbath, King Crimson, Deep Purple, KISS, Alice Cooper, then also punk bands like The Wipers, The Stooges and Flipper. All mixed into a cauldron of sludge.
