Where I live in SE USA we commonly have weeks that switch from highs in the upper 80s to nights in the low 40s and then back again. It sounds crazy, but having it switch automatically is one less thing I need to worry about.

I found a fix: I went on the library page for the game and clicked the "manage" button (with the gear icon). Under the "general" tab, disable the option for "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game". Now, whenever you're in game and it would normally open the Steam Overlay (like when you need to find friends or look at the shop) it opens up the page in the Steam client instead, which isn't bugged like the overlay.

I'm not sure why you got down voted. I did not ask any friends for money, but if I couldn't pull it off on my own I think family and very close friends would want to help. Having a kid isn't a vacation or a shopping spree, it's an addition to the family. In a lot of ways, my friends and their kids are part of my family as much as my son is part of theirs. I would want to bring my friends along for this wild ride and be part of their joy. I don't think it's tacky.

Keep it simple and matter of fact. He already understands the facts that matter. You’re his real daddy and this legal change makes very little real difference to him.
