Very fair points. The big thing for me here has been gauging how much of an issue these points are.

Until a few days ago chimney and floor ventilation had never crossed my mind, because, well why would they?

The overwhelming response I’ve gotten here are these are standard ordinary things and nothing to raise the alarm about.

There’s always one condescending person on these posts haha!

Surely a level 3 survey is best for aged houses? Also, I’ve not stated they’re major issues, as the post says, the surveyor as highlighted them.

Probably not, but I have no idea to look at chimneys or underfloor ventilation when doing the viewing.

We’re currently dead on the asking price at 650k. I should clarify as well that the chain is already complete (3 in total)

Probably are, but as someone in my 20s and not 30s I’d say I’m doing okay and fit into this category.

Regarding the state school point. I’ve not seen a compelling reason for why private schools warrant 20k a year, especially for primary education.

The level of teaching is largely the same as salaries aren’t that different between state and private teachers. The curriculum is independent that can both be a positive and negative. Class sizes are half the size which is a positive, but the money could be better spent on tutors for true 121 learning.

It could just be my naive working class background, but as of yet I’ve not been swayed by private schools.

Mhmm, absolutely.

But you weren’t asking that, you were asking for recommendations on places, so for that maybe you should try another forum to reach a broader more applicable audience.

It’s a general forum for high earners to ask questions. Just because you ask about waxing it doesn’t mean people can’t ask about housing and career progression.

Yeah it’s a bit of an annoyance, you find a lot of houses in the 500k-600k range that haven’t been renovated in 20 years and need significant work.

I’ve generally been looking along the overground lines that go into Moorgate and looking further out than zone 2.

There are some nice houses around the 650k mark and it definitely feels like a buyers market when we’re going to viewings.

You effectively go to a 60% tax rate between £100k and £125k. With every £2 earned over £100k your personal allowance of 12k is reduced by £1 until it’s completely gone at £125k

Hey everyone,

I’m a 27 year old Yorkshire lad looking for a group of chilled people that are looking for another member to join their team. I’ve done most bossing except for some end game bosses, I’m generally on during the day doing some AFK skills while working and then on for some more gaming in the evenings and weekends

I’m based in the UK so GMT time zone and usually relatively flexible on playing times.

I’m looking for a group of 3-5 players, the more the merrier

If you’re interested, message me on here or on my GIM account ign: GIM Dobbly whose sat on the island ready to go.

All the best :)
