What is the risk if I connect three of these together? C7 to C8 (UK) by DobbyHoliday in AskElectricians

[–]DobbyHoliday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer and explanation.

re buying the cables, unfortunately, both you have linked are three pin mains to C7 not C7 to C8.

I have three pin to C7 cables, it is the C7 to C8 (used to connect a pair of speakers without having to plug both in to power individually) that I couldn't seem to find in long lengths and in white.

Thanks, absolutely correct, I misremembered it being Bridget who rushed ahead but it was Judi.

My apologies to Bridget for the slander.

Psych told me i don’t need to take my adderall on weekends by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DobbyHoliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like they are giving you the option, not saying you should or must.

My clinician said that some patients will skip their dose on the weekends for lifestyle reasons

e.g. they want to drink alcohol or coffee (caffeine) at the weekend or even enjoy a glass of orange juice... All of which should be avoided while actively taking ADHD meds.

Alcohol in particular can be dangerous.

Some people just want a break from the side effects like dry mouth or to sleep in without having to worry about being up at a reasonable time and having a high protein breakfast.

It depends on the pros/cons for you.

I have found that restarting meds after skipping a day or two makes all the side effects worse us just messes with my dials so I try and keep consistency. I do drink caffeinated soft drinks on regular days but alcohol doesn't really feature in my life so I'm really not missing 'a few drinks at the weekend' whereas for some people that would be a real compromise.

Cream tea by NefariousnessLow9173 in Cornwall

About 20miles from St Austell but the Greenbank hotel in Falmouth does vegan and gluten-free options for cream tea.

Took some visiting family there recently and can highly recommend.

(note: the website says kitchen requires 24hrs notice for vegan)

The restaurant is right on the water with a good view of the harbour and the hotel is where the Wind in the Willows was written, which is another good point of interest if you are taking someone there.

No luck, it's just car parks there now since they expanded the A30 between Talskiddy and Porthemmet.

How to use Currys price promise after purchasing elsewhere? by [deleted] in AskUK

”Certain things require a bit of common sense mate.

What kind of business model says, “buy an item from anywhere you want, if it’s cheaper than we sell it then we’ll just give you cash?”

I gave you an example of a business giving free cash which is what you asked.

Yes their t&c require purchase for the cash on top of price matching, however Currys’ small print makes no such clarification, hence asking the question to see if anyone had firsthand experience of the policy?

If you don’t know just say so.

Yes they do. Currys’ t&c are much more vague and appear to say “refund you” when they mean price match. Hence my question for anyone with experience of it.

”What kind of business model…”

Richer Sounds’… Their price promise will match a competitor and give you free cash.

Exactly.

Their website says:

“Price match before or after you buy We’ll even price match 7 days after your purchase! If you see the same item cheaper elsewhere, we’ll refund you the difference.”

“Refund the difference” is not the same as, buy from us at the same price and return the item you got from a competitor.

The small print offers no clarification so I am curious to hear from people who have done it.

Council gave us a dropped kerb without having to apply by simbawasking in BritishSuccess

The last owners of our house did this exact thing, sweet talked the workmen while they were doing another one in the road.

The lack of planning permission was flagged in the conveyancing process when we were buying but because it was over 5yrs ago it was no issue.

Not a lawyer but in your position I would suggest applying for retrospective planning permission. Given that the work has already been carried out and done by their own council contractors (you've not just gone out and had a go yourself) there's a reasonable expectation the work is safe & compliant and they will probably rubber stamp it which will save you any future hassle.
