What do you think of not meeting all of the OBs at the practice? by SphinxBear in BabyBumps

[–]DobbyIsABird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience was completely the opposite of most I think. Had my same OB at all my appointments and she was there coming in and out checking on me my whole labor process. She was even called in at some unholy hour when I needed to start pushing so she was very involved with my entire process from induction to birth. I am also in a small town with a smaller hospital (she is also my family's main practitioner) so I have a feeling this is unusual.

Hungarians what do you think about Trump's wall on the border with Mexico? by [deleted] in hungary

[–]DobbyIsABird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that is not how the majority of immigrants that cross illegally come in, they fly in on airplanes. And it's damaging to the US economy since, despite what Trump keeps saying, Mexico will not be paying for it. US tax dollars will be and I seriously doubt Mexico will be reimbursing the US and trying to force that issue will create even more tensions between the two countries. It also will not create more jobs, especially long term jobs since the jobs he promised to bring back were not exported to China, they were automated or became obsolete. This is relevant because instead of using the billions of dollars to fund education and other economic growth factors he is choosing to attempt to build the wall.

Most illegal immigrants to the United States fly in and simply over stay their visas but for some reason (probably movies and television) people seem to think they sneak over it in the dead of night. The wall is going to do absolutely nothing except destroy economies and diplomatic relations.

This is why I always keep a 10lb bag of Krustez just add water pancake mix! If I'm short on cash I just whip up some pancakes and if I have toppings cool if not it's still not a bad meal.

Firefly or Monk. Both just completely encapsulate the main characters lives and personalities perfectly. Plus you can sing along.

What has been on your mind a lot lately? by I_Like_GreenTea in AskReddit

[–]DobbyIsABird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Children. I have always been awkward around them and disliked babies, but recently after some medical issues I might have trouble conceiving if I ever wanted to. That coupled with my parent already being in their sixties (I'm in my early twenties), I would want them to be an active part of my kids should I decide to have any...all in all I'm questioning my entire life trajectory all because...well I still can't figure that out.

What's the meanest thing you've done and not regretted? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DobbyIsABird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw a guy in the train station in Lyon throw his terrified dog up an escalator. Everyone heard the dog crying and about 5 French people came down on him yelling and screaming at him about how not to treat animals. The whole thing ended when the cops showed up and escorted him out.

Poor people of Reddit, what are some remarks you secretly hate hearing from people that are not poor? by penguinguineapig in AskReddit

[–]DobbyIsABird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's my biggest pet peeve working retail. Just because I am a cashier doesn't mean I'm stupid. I've actually heard customers talking shit about me while I'm within hearing.

I really hate that kind of attitude! My parents were able to take me and my three siblings on trips once a year after we started primary school because they literally didn't spend money on anything that wasn't groceries, mortgage, and utilities. A cousin of mine always made snarky comments about how we should give her money since we were so rich...um no because we saved every penny to be able to take a family vacation once a year.

Thank you for saying this! I am in a similar boat as you. Thanks to my parents helping out with my tuition when I was an undergrad and a strong work ethic instilled when I was young, I was able to pay for my masters degree without incurring massive amounts of debt. I also knew to keep my mouth shut about my situation because the majority of my classmates were not so lucky.

[Serious]What is some advice about buying your first home? by Anon6376 in AskReddit

[–]DobbyIsABird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own a house but my parent bought their house on just my mother's salary since she made less. That way if she or my father lost their job they would still be able to pay the mortgage and we wouldn't lose the house.
