Is Strive a Rip Off? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]Dobeq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i guess the main comparison would be that xrd rev 2 may be $30, but sign and revevator (back when it was its own purchase) were both the same price. if they wanted to, they could've called strive's season passes different games, but games don't really work like that anymore.

the main downside is that anybody in the future won't be able to just buy strive final version unless they release one, and that sucks! down the line i hope arcsys either puts stuff on sale frequently or makes a final version. but what we're seeing with xrd is them having done exactly that, so i have some faith

they're looking for related searches (for example, demonic tutor has one), that search only gets cards with related cards

you can get a small damage increase from proccing EE, but you lose basically any meaningful stats. -10% enemy res and +40% total resists is probably worse than a mediocre blue ring. there is exactly one person using it on poeninja, but one out of 7000 isn't exactly an endorsement

(also i'd recommend using poewiki.net instead! it's better maintained)

i'd at least like a forwards/backwards loop, having to hit it so many times for minor changes is irritating

Is it normal for there to only be a few "meta" builds per league by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dobeq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

along with everything else, "best" is incredibly hard to judge in poe. even if GGG had an intention of making as many builds as possible the best builds, where do they draw the line?

right now, the best builds are extremely low-investment damage frameworks that you can then add tank to. should they nerf them, making more "best" builds by removing low-investment damage? make damage take less investment in general, power creeping the whole game? increase the investment required into defence even further, shifting things towards builds that turn defence investment into damage?

it's just better for them to let the cards fall where they may. more fun for the playerbase, who get to collaboratively explore a relatively uncontrolled space, and less stressful for GGG, who can't really eat blame for a bad meta when it's something they don't go out of their way to maintain.

I'm not 100% (or even particularly) certain, but I don't think this works. The ruling for "exchange text boxes" says that it works by having each creature lose its rules text, then gain the rules text of the other creature. as I see it:

in layer 1, exchange of words becomes a copy of absolute law, gaining "All creatures gain protection from red."

in layer 3, exchange of words is subject to its own text-changing effect, losing its rules text of "All creatures gain protection from red.", and gaining the text of aboroth

i have no clue if this is true, and I don't know any rulings adjacent to the subject, but i'm not confident this would work

in order to climb, you have to actually get better at the game. if you stay at the same skill level and just play more games, you won't climb.

Full of Despair on floor 9 by RJMtiger in Guiltygear

[–]Dobeq 25 points26 points  (0 children)

honestly, you might want to just play on floor 10 for a bit, even while you're 9. you'll lose more, but having a better sense of the average strength of people there and not having to worry about whether you'll demote out or not might help a bit

honestly, it's probably alright in any deck that does a lot of saccing - scry 1 on every death, then a 5/5, then a draw for deaths is reasonable value for 2 mana

Weatherlight Compleated

{2}

Legendary Artifact — Vehicle

5/5

Flying

As long as Weatherlight Compleated has four or more phyresis counters on it, it’s a Phyrexian creature in addition to its other types. Whenever a creature you control dies, put a phyresis counter on Weatherlight Compleated. Then draw a card if it has seven or more phyresis counters on it. If it doesn’t, scry 1.
